In the photo, the "imperial gray" looks like a dark gray. I received a mixer in that color and it's much closer to a matte silver.
The color for this cover is a very dark gray, even though the official title is "imperial gray". It looks really great on our black Kitchen Aid mixer, not sure about any other colors however. Hope this clarification of the description helps.

What is the exacr thickness in mils? It is not mentioned in the specs. I would like to use this screen protector, but I also often use my olloclip lens, sounless it is very very thin, it won't allow the lens to slip on.
I am not quite sure how thick the screen is, but it is thin enough to be very flimsy before installation. The product comes with a application solution that works very well. In my opinion it was one of the easiest protectors to install that I've ever done. I highly recommend this product, it is well worth the price.
