Shhh, be very quiet

Compared to my V1, the range feels a bit less but still plenty but it's SO quiet. Even running YaV1 the V1 is just so chatty. The automute is great. I'd tweak a few things but all in all, this is a nice detector. At least until Uniden comes out with one with arrows.

I am purchasing this as a gift for someone who lives in a rental house and would need to be uninstalled once they leave. Can this be uninstalled once installed or is installation permanent? Thanks.
It can be uninstalled, but the mounting holes are permanent. One would have thought they would have designed this with the mounting holes in the same position as a normal door bell but nope. You'd need something to cover the holes this leaves behind when removing it.

What is the difference between the C4-V-CJM and the C4-CJM models, besides the extra antenna on top?
The addition of the VHF dipole antenna kit. That's the black horizontal bar that you see attached to the signal reflector.

Do you need and amplifier with this antenna?
Yes. No. Maybe. It all depends on your location and what your dwelling is constructed of. Go here: http://www.tvfool.com enter your address and you will get a map of the transmitters with their direction, distance and signal strength along with a list of channels and what you may need to get a good signal from them. It will also generate an anonymized link that you can then use in http://www.dtvusaforum.com to get further advise on what equipment to try.

I have cable and internet from same company. What do I need to do to drop cable company and install you antenna instead? Have 4 tvs, all flatscreen. What equipment do I need to buy and can I install it myself ( I assume instructions would be a part of antenna purchase, but maybe not, Please help!

I cannot mount an antenna and hook up the system myself. Are there companies that do this?
Yes, search for local antenna installers, you should be able to find someone. It's honestly no different than installing say DirecTV, some of their installers may moonlight doing antenna installs. Just make sure your insurance will cover any unforeseen mishaps.
