Great Monitor for MacBook Pro

I needed a larger monitor without sacrificing clarity. I use this for work so text sharpness was key. This monitor fit the bill. It perfectly scales my Mac desktop giving me larger sharper text than a 27" 1080p monitor could. It also performs well as a gaming monitor for my PC. Great all around 4K monitor. I found only two minor flaws in an otherwise excellent monitor: the headphone/speaker jack in back doesn't hold the headphone/speaker plug as securely as I'd like and you can only control the volume output of the headphone/speaker jack via the monitor controls.

Re: Accessory cables included: HDMI and DP inputs to the monitor are described: but what connector style is on the laptop end? Thx!

The two cables provided are an HDMI-HDMI and a full size Display Port to full size Display Port. If you laptop has an HDMI output make sure it will support 4K at 60hz or you will get a noticeable lag when moving your mouse or scrolling. If you have a mini-display port, you will need to purchase a Display Port 1.2 compliant mini-display port to Display port cable.

Does anyone know which cable provides the best screen results with a Mac Pro desktop (tower), the Data Port or HDMI cable? This monitor is replacing a Mac Thunderbolt monitor. Thanks.

When it comes to 4K displays, it depends on the display and your Mac Pro. Here is the support article from Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206587

I have a Md-2014 MBP 15" and to get 4K at 60hz,I needed to go to the Mini-Display Port(works with Thunderbolt Port) to Display Port 1.2 standard. The Display Port 1.2 standard is important. I tried this with a non-compliant Mini DP to DP and had issues.
