Nice machine and my first one that has direct drive. It is easy to use with the computer graphics and choices easy to read and understand. Looks like it is very well built and looks really nice.
A negative is that it seams to get out of balance easier than any other machine I've had before. In one case I had a light blanket and regular sheets in the load and the computer worked and worked to get the load even but could not. Even after I resorted the load a couple of times it could not do it. I ewventually unloaded and just washed seperately.
This is a nice little Western set in 1850 with a twist of comedy thrown in...much like John Wayne might have been in. And according to Wilder's autobiography he was asked to be in it, but declined because of money (I would bet it would have been because of his health since Wayne died the year this picture was released). At any rate a young Harrison Ford, still fresh faced and with the hair cut he wore in Star Wars, is the gunman he befriends on his way to San Fransisco. You see Wilder is a newly appointed Rabbi for the small town and he must travel from one side of America to the other running into Indians, a Band of Evil gunslingers and the odd Raccoon or two. He needs help in the crossing and Harrison's character decides its up to him to help him find his way. While funny at times it is by no means another Blazing saddles...nor was it intended to be. Like I said...a nice Western with comedy thrown in from time to time. Wilder and Ford make a good pair and they must have had fun making the movie since they have good chemistry here onscreen. The script and direction should have been stronger but all in all a fun little movie.
What's great about it: Good Basic Western Type Story
What's not so great: Could have used another rewrite to punch it up a little.
