I wasn't prepared to spend $500 or more for a color calibrated monitor right now. This is about as close as you will get. They are calibrated by Dell, and come with the calibrated results in a certificate. I bought 2, and they were extremely close to each other. You will want to reduce the brightness a bit under most circumstances, and set the color temp to 6500K, which should suit most users just fine. I may buy a calibration tool to further tweak, but out of the box, the performance is more than satisfactory.

Good to great picture for on-axis viewing, but not for off-axis. I like having the ISF settings although I found a little tweaking yielded the best picture. Great for kitchens, small bedrooms, etc. If you wall mount it, I highly recommend you get an articulating mount.

Best wireless router I've owned

I replaced a Cisco router that was frequently locking up and required resetting multiple times per week. Since installing several weeks ago the Airport Extreme I have not had to reboot yet. It would need an adaptor, as the iPnone has no mini hdmi connector

is this a good lens to use for sports?
I need a new lens to take indoor sports shots with, would this be a good lens? light indoor is pretty poor, & can not use a flash.
For wide shots. It's a fast lens so it does well in low light. If you want close action you may want to consider another lens.

Will it work on the D5100?
I'm getting a D5100 and want to get this lens. Also, does it have to be really close up (example: flower) or can it take portraits? (like having the subject clear and backround blurred) and not have to be really close to them
This a a great general purpose lens and will do fine for portraits unless you are doing close work in which case you might want a 50mm. But for general purposes this is a better all around lens for general photography.

Yes it will fit. F mount refers to the standard Nikon mounting system.

will it work for macros of gemstones
Just ordered the Nikon D3300, looking to take macro photos of gemstones I cut, will this lens work for that purpose? Will it work with the D3300?
It will work on a D3300. DX series are designed for APS-C Nikons. As for macro, if that is your primary use for the lens you may want to consider one of Nikon's macro specific lenses, or something a little less wide, like a 50 or 85mm lens. If this is your walkarouns lens and you just want to do some macros you may be ok.
