Wescyde's Reviews

Who would have thought there'd ever come a time when desperately searching the environment for what little resources you can find to survive was your idea of relaxing? While the daylight hours may be filled with scavenging for supplies and weapons, the fact that the sun shines in the sky eases your anxiety, because you know what happens the moment it dips beyond the horizon. With the dying light comes a host of horrors that turn the hunter into the hunted. Hoards of infected become aggressive and increase in numbers, searching for you as you searched for weapons to kill them just hours before. But the infected aren't even the most frightening threat. There's something else out there that lurks in the darkness, a more sinister predator that stalks its prey. You are that prey.Set in a vast and dangerous open world, Dying Light drops you in the middle of a waking nightmare in a first-person survival horror experience that will have your heart pounding and adrenaline pumping the second night falls. During the day, you're free to roam the expansive urban environment to scavenge for supplies and craft the weapons you need to defend yourself against the victims of a vicious outbreak. A variety of melee weapons, including knives, bats, axes, sledgehammers and more, are at your disposal, as well as guns and other firepower. The sizeable crafting system enables you to create a slew of more powerful, more potent weapons and equipment with specialized ammunition. You'll need every weapon you can lay your hands on to survive the night — when the infected roam free and the night-loving predators begin their hunt. Whether you're tracking prey or evading predators, you can seamlessly leap between buildings, grapple up walls and pounce on enemies with free running movement. With breathtaking visuals and immersive gameplay, powered by Chrome Engine 6, you'll begin to fear the night right along with your character. But your only chance is to face the dying light and use every ounce of wit, skill and courage you have to survive until morning comes.

Fun Game, but in the end felt the same as the rest

Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed Dying light way more than dead island which this game is pretty much an upgraded version of with a better story and mechanics in play style. Once you start you will really be sucked into its beauty and especially the parkour aspect of the game which In my opinion more games should adopt. However, as fun as the weapons creations you make and the parkour is, in the end its a very traditional fetch quest game. Basicaly you do something for someone and you return for a reward. It has great enemey diversity and a lot to explore and do but at some point for me that same quest selection can make the game boring for me. This game has a ton of side quests on top of the campaign so my best adice would be to balance between the two because if you do to much side quest you will eventually burn your self out. You can go back and forth between the areas of the game (wont spoil that anymore) so you wil never really lose out on stuff to do. I enjoyed it but not enough to keep it, may want to rent it first to see what your thoughts are, it does have a great co-op mode however and that makes the game much more enjoyable.

Difficult but worth it

Bloodborne is an amazing game, but if you are the type that cannot handle dying ALOT then you may want to re-think your purchase. It will take a while to get fully involved in what the game has to offer but in the end it will be worth it. My last game by from software was demon souls and I put 100s of hours into that. Bloodborne is no different, it requires patience, observation of your enemies and guts to do and try things to reach your goals. Its a rewarding experience when you defeat a boss you have tried 5 times before, however its a frustrating mess the 4 times before. The visuals are great, the weapons are fun to play with and figure out as they have multiple ways to use them, the enemies are very diverse and awesome in their own right. If you are tired of open world overload and want a challenge then invest in blood borne. If you cant handle death and a true challenge don't.
