I have owned almost every version of the Bose QuietComfort headphones. Even compared to the most recent version, the QC15, the new QC20 is absolutely the best! The noise cancellation has been taken to another level... it blocks out even more noise than the QC15.
The QC20 will also play if the battery is dead, which none of the previous QC headphones would do. I also prefer the in-ear style of the QC20 instead of the big clunky over the head style of the older QC headphones. The older style was comfortable, but if worn for long periods of time would make your head warm due to the foam used.
I have been impressed with the battery life on the QC20 as well... I am getting close to the 16 hours Bose claims. Plus, it recharges over a standard micro-USB cable! Thank you, Bose for not making a proprietary charging cable!!!
I'd like the carrying case to be a little nicer, considering the price. It is just a neoprene pouch. Something that held the pieces in place and wound the cord would be nicer for this much money. This is a pretty small complaint, though.
Speaking of money, yes these are expensive. They are the same price as all the prior versions of the QC headphones, so I'm not really complaining. After a few months, you may be able to pick up a refurbished version somewhere if you want to save a few bucks.
I find the StayHear+ system Bose uses to be very comfortable and stable. I was able to get a good seal and they fit great for me.
Three suggestions for the next version of this product:
1. Wireless - Bluetooth would be great!!
2. Sweatproof - please coat these using one of the new water/sweatproof nano-coatings
3. A better carrying case

Does best buy carry bose rechargable batteries?

The battery in the QC20 is not user-replaceable. You would need to send it to Bose to get it replaced.
