Will this work well in my HP Pavllion 500-281?
Yes, it has all the wire connections you'd need and has the same form factor as the 300w power supply that came installed in your computer. I installed mine in a p6604y which I think is a slightly older model than yours.

Does this have EIDE or SATA connectors?
All I saw were SATA connections while installing it.
