For the longest time I just couldn't get into this album (title track excepted), but I finally sat down and listened to it all the way through, and it captivated me! The instrumentals in the second half of the album are so haunting, and even with ~15 minutes of no vocals, I was still mesmerized. Great addition to any Bowie collection.

What a shame this was his final album. His voice had a beautiful quality that made his own songs sparkle and breathed new life into the songs he covered. I love his version of "Nobody knows you (when you're down and out)."

The Stage Names, with its deep philosophical musings on fame, almost begged to be expanded upon, and that is just what Will Sheff and Okkervil River did with this album. Lovely music and lyrics for a topic filled with crash-and-burn stories.

This album is a great follow-up to Black Sheep Boy

I love Will Sheff's vocals and his lyrics; both have such a profound and transcendent way about them, as though he's truly experiencing what he's singing about as he's singing about it. Very powerful.
