Good product with lots of features!

I read a lot of reviews before I read this product so I was aware of the few kinks the product does have. However the pros outweigh the cons for me so I have really enjoyed this product. I was torn between the Charge HR (small) and the Surge (small) but I am really glad I went with the Surge because I have really made use of the extra options it has the offer.
I was able to get most of the features of the Surge to pair with my Samsung Edge 6 phone quickly. However, I did have a little trouble with the text/call notification settings but I got it to work after about a half hour. I can have my phone charging downstairs in my house and I will get a phone text/notification in any of the rooms upstairs. This is a great feature to have when you or in a loud place like a restaurant or you are using the vacuum cleaner. There is a slight delay with the notification, but I have always been able to make it to the phone in time while it was ringing.
The GPS seems to work great while running outside but you do have to wait about 30 seconds for it to pair when you stairs. The only con is that the treadmill tracker always falls short of my distance on the treadmill. This is something that Fitbit is still currently working on and hopefully they will come up with a solution sometime in the near future.
I like the clarity, size and clearness of the screen. I read in some reviews that people had problems seeing the display but I have never had a problem whether I am in direct sunlight, indoors, or outside in the dark. The screen is a little big and bulky, especially for my small wrists. However, like any watch, I have gotten used to it.
If you are torn between getting the small and the large, I would recommend going to the store and measuring your wrist against the blue size lines on the box. When I measured mine, I had a little bit of blue showing against the small so I went with that one. I have child size hands and wrists and the small almost doesn't fit me. I think most people will have to get the large. While running/jogging, the Surge did slip down at first but I have gotten used to placing it in a good spot that it doesn't move from (that fits the 3 fingers away from the wrist suggestion).
The alarm feature works great! I have found it more soothing to wake up to versus my phone alarm.
I like the flexibility of tracking my activities differently (weights, yoga, stairclimber, etc.). The ability to see heart rate and calories burned during my workouts has really helped me to reach my fitness goals (along with keeping a food diary with the My Fitness Pal app). The Fitbit works seamlessly with so many other apps. I currently use it in conjunction and have linked it with with My Fitness Pal, Runkeeper and the Retro Fitness apps.
As you can probably tell, I am really happy with my purchase even though I was hesitant to spend so much money on the product. Even though I still feel it is a little expensive, I have lost weight/fat and I have really enjoyed using the product. If you can deal/live with the cons and love the pros, this product is probably right for you too.
