does dvi provide video only or video and audio?
If you are using a laptop or PC, it depends on the graphic card but it should.

Will this work for a gaming computer that doesn't have a wifi chip in it and I just plug it in and set it up
My desktop only has an RJ45 port for a hardwire network connection. No built-in wireless capabilities.
This USB adapter works fine for me on this machine which I upgraded to Windows 10 just before buying the adapter.
