battery life of most cordless phones

what is the battery life for talking on these phones. my spouse has out of town
friends whom spends time visiting with them.

I bought warranty plain for a few bucks and it covers of batteries also.

Are the handsets synchronized?

When you clear the calls on one handset do all the other handsets automatically clear at the same time. With my current system each handset has to be cleared individually.
