Universal and Best Buy have partnered together again to release a collection of exclusive library titles, this time on Blu-ray. From what I can tell, this collection includes three titles - The Ghost And Mr. Chicken, It Came From Outer Space, and October Sky. The Ghost And Mr. Chicken is a beloved Don Knotts vehicle that carries over a lot of the charm that made the Andy Griffith Show so special. As for the Blu-ray quality, it has good color but lacks fine detail. There are no special features.

The Asylum has scaled way back on releasing their titles onto Blu-ray, opting for only DVD instead. It's a shame, since they usually do great work with their Blu-ray releases. The Sharknado series is one of the few cases in which we get a Blu-ray release from them. This 4th film features great hi-def video & audio. And, the Best Buy version includes a fun Sharknado bottle-opener. The series is pretty well established at this point, with an even greater emphasis on cameo's in this 4th film.

I've always loved Tales From The Darkside, and was able to watch the final season when it originally aired. Like most anthology series, some episodes are great, some good, and some you only will watch once. I was excited to add this entire series to my media library, but the video quality is poor - it looks about as good as it did on broadcast TV back in the late 80's. Still, I'm happy to revisit the show, and the price for 12 DVD's was good.

This is the third Republic serial that Olive has released on Blu-ray. "Sky Marshall" is presented on two Blu-rays, and the video & audio are great. Fun serial, though there is much discussion on the nature of the program itself - initially made for TV, but had a theatrical run first, apparently. Best Buy had it at a great price, too.

Many professional movie critics cite "Civil War" as one of the best movies to come from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and I have to agree with them. It's fantastic. The Blu-ray features the expected great video & audio, and the extra features are decent - there is some overlap between the making-of features and the commentary, but that is fairly common.

Thanks to the distribution deal between Warner Bros. & Paramount, these two films from different studios can be sold together. Wow - Universal Home Video really delivered with this Blu-ray collection. Excellent Video & Audio - these seven films have all been lovingly remastered to some extent. They look GREAT. And yes, as everyone points out there is sharing/double-dipping of titles between this set and the Frankenstein one. But, with Best Buy selling this for $14.95 it is an automatic purchase for me. Very pleased with this set.
