my tv only has 2 hdmi ports one just recently gave out. was looking to buy another tv. but instead saw this and gave it a try. bought it on sale for 50, saved myself hundreds. only problem i have with this is sometimes when it powers on the image flickers. have to power it off and back on and the image stays. dont why it does that but thats the only downside to my product.

great sound. not so good when using it with ARC HDMI input sound gets distorted. also tried to add this to my harmony control and its not available yet. so still need that extra remote when switching audio inputs. looks good. also only has 3 sound modes. cinema, music and standard. overall great for watching movies.

Does this remote have a back light button to illuminate the buttons in the dark. Does any Harmony remote have this function?
the smart control does not have a back light. the harmony one/ultimate does and the back light turns on automatically when the remote is moved or picked up.

Router needed?
I purchased this player after the salesperson assured me that no router is needed. The unit doesn't find a network, so when is the router required?
first are you sure you have a wireless router? this blu-ray will pickup any wifi near by. if you just have a wired router its best to connect via the ethernet port. if you have no router at home and just want to use the basic functions of watching 3Dblu-rays, blu-rays and dvds then no router is needed. the network option is just for using apps that can be accessed via the internet thru the player such as netflix youtube hulu etc.
