One of the best superheor films

I have yet to watch this on UHD Blu-ray with HDR, but I know it will have plenty of pop. I saw this in the theater and it was a real treat. This is how you tell an origin story. It's funny. It's action-packed. The visuals are amazing. When the hero (or heroine) finally emerges on screen, you are already cheering her on. The lead actors have charm and draw you into the story. Gil Gadot embodies the Wonder Woman character much like Robert Downey Jr. does with Tony Stark and IronMan. A home run!

Overly long film with great HDR presentation

The HDR presentation here is wonderful. But, I still have issues with this film. It is fine for the first hour to hour and a half before it bogs down after the football stadium scene and Gotham is at the mercy of Bane. It picks up again near the end and it has a good wrap-up, but it truly is a bit of a chore to get through with its nearly two and a half hour running time.

While I did return my unit, there is a lot to like about the Apple TV 4K. Apple updated the device to match the content source so that it was no longer outputting everything in HDR. The Apple TV 4K as of this writing does support Dolby Vision in some apps, but not all. In fact, I think HDR support in general is lacking in some apps. But, this is not Apple's fault, as developers have not yet submitted apps that support it. However, for apps like VUDU, you cannot even purchase or rent films since Apple wants you to buy from the Apple Store. Same for Amazon. You get Prime Video only. So, the walled garden is in full effect. However, Apple does have a nice catalogue in their store. Redeemed HD codes upgrade you to the 4K HDR versions for free. And 4K movies are the same price as the HD versions. No one else is doing that.
The device itself is nice. It is difficult to discern it from the non-4K 4th generation version unless you look closely at the bottom for the ventilation. The remote is slightly different and I find that it tracks better than the 4th generation remote. It seemed more accurate for me while navigating the menus than the 4th generation, which was too sensitive, IMO.
So, why did I return it? I just didn't need it. My LG OLED has smart apps. The LG WebOS is very good and the apps are current. Everything is responsive and they all support 4K HDR with many of them also supporting Dolby Vision, including VUDU, which is my 4K HDR streaming source for rentals now. So, I couldn't justify the cost of the Apple TV 4K for my set up. I don't have the breadth of apps on my TV that the Apple TV 4K includes, like The WB app, or Crunchyroll, for instance, but I can buy a $50 Roku Stick+ for that, or continue watching them via my 4th gen Apple TV on my 1080p HDTV.

This title can be picked up fairly inexpensively nowadays. It is definitely one to own. The HDR here is in full effect on the UHD Blu-ray. It truly is stunning. There is a big difference between this and the Blu-ray counterpart.

I saw this film on release day in theaters. Plus, I have seen it on Blu-ray, via streaming in Dolby Vision, and now on 4K UHD Blu-ray in HDR10. While I am not the biggest fan of the film, I admire the artistry of it. I love the original Mad Max trilogy, however. The main point of this review is to focus on the quality of the presentation in 4K. This film truly is amazing to watch. The blues in the sky shots are stunning. The reds and oranges in the sand and the vibrancy of the flames are so rich, as well. This is a must-own on the format.

Batman Has Never Been So Much Fun

The Batman Lego Movie is truly a lot of fun. Wil Arnett returns as the brooding Batman that he played so well in The Lego Movie. It is fun for kids and adults. And Batman fans should find the film quite enjoyable with the many references and good story.
But what I really want to emphasize is how amazing this film looks in 4K HDR. The colors absolutely pop. There is so much detail that it was like watching it again for the first time. Matched with an LG OLED, it was an incredible experience.

Cool Steelbook for a Good Sequal

John Wick Chapter 2 is a worthy sequel to the original. While it doesn't have quite the emotional impact of the first, you still enjoy the wild ride. Going deeper into the assassins world is a treat, and Keanu plays the roll perfectly. You will be eager to see the next chapter after finishing this one.
The exclusive Blu-ray Steelbook is nice as well. At the same time of this release, the first John Wick also received a Steelbook. They make great companions. I actually prefer the silver and black Steelbook for John Wick over the red, blue and black version for John Wick Chapter 2, but it is still very nice.
