get this item if you purchased an nes classic. you can unscrew the plastic hook that blocks player 1/2 inputs. don't get a long hdmi and/or extension cord thinking that will fix the issue. who wants an nes classic in the middle of their room w/ all these cords all over the place. what's that? wireless? nope. think of the delay in sending the signal to/from the controller and receiver...

Can my "OLD" edition controller, work with the "extension" or do I need another controller? The ends are not the same in either case.
nope. the old edition (circa 1980's) will not work. only the nes classic controller and some of the wii classic controllers will work. that being said, there is an adapter on amazon that allows you to use the old edition controllers w/ the nes classic, but that adapter is wireless and wireless nes classic controller = delayed response time = certain death in super mario bros
