I knew I had the charger but didn't know if these would work with it since the batteries that came with the charger were AA, but they did, like a charm! They take a long time to recharge, but it beats paying a hefty price for more.

This remote feels solid in my hand. I didn't want something with a screen because 2 year olds can be very destructive. But this remote has held up well so far. I didn't give it 5 starts because it was quite a bit harder to set up than I anticipated. Since our TV isn't one of the "main" brands listed, I had to hook it up to a computer to get the proper programming downloaded. That part was kind of frustrating because the first time I tried didn't work. But, with a little persistence, I was able to get the remote to work and it's been great ever since! It also lights up when you touch it so you're not hunting for the right button.

One of those cult movies

I really enjoyed this movie about a decade ago when it came out. The concept of a special house was intriguing to me and I liked the way the movie was shot. Watching it again, I can tell the difference between the computer graphics of then vs now, of course, but still find the story pretty gripping despite the little bit of over-acting by a few of the actors.

I think the story is great, the animation stupendous and it's just the right amount of quirky. With the little bit of violence there is in it, I wouldn't recommend it for any younger than 6. The little bit of adult humor make watching it myself pretty enjoyable and for as goofy as it is in the first place, I still managed to laugh out loud to myself. A few times!
