The D500 like alot of pro level DSLR's doesn't have an internal flash and you will obviously come across a situation where its needed. Its worth the investment to spend a little extra money and get the Speedlight 700 because its something that could grow with your photography. Sure there is cheaper flashes which offer less control and far less features but its a phenominal mid level flash without breaking the bank.

I love how the strap threads into the bottom of the camera as a tripod or monopod would. When you're walking around with a $3k+ investment around your neck you want to feel like its safely secured and its not going anywhere. Love the attachment from the bottom as well because the camera is able to hang near your hip and it doesn't feel weird as the side mounted straps do.

Basically if you are looking for a professional grade DSLR but you don't want to spend more than 3 times the amount on its bigger brother the D5 than this is the best camera on the market. I'm not a professional and I was in between the D7200 which is an older model but obviously less expensive and I truly wanted the D500 but it was a little out of my budget and I'm so glad I did because I love everything about this camera. If you truly love taking beautiful images and aren't afraid of putting the time in to learn the operations of this camera than this will be a home run out of the box as it has been for me!!
