Great visual FX but little substance

Just like the last 2 outings, Transformers: Age of Extinction offers a spectacle unlike any other. The special FX are top notch but as usual, Michael Bay is more preocupied with slo-mo shots, 1800 VFX shots showing off said tranformers, but it makes you think that he invested only about $5 on the script budget. These movies get dumber as their number increases. IT's sad though because we all eat them up since they do entertain but it would be wise but this very succesful movie director to just look at some of his peers work (Peter Jackson, James Cameron, Christopher Nolan to name a few) and realize that he can also rise to the ocassion and far exceed our expectations.

I was a young man when I first watched Alfonso Cuaron's fantastic movie. This opened doors to him that hopefully have not culminated a career with a Best Director win at this years Academy Awards for Gravity. The movie holds your attention and feels like it's aging very well. I recommend this movie to anyone wanting to explore how unique a style both visually and in his storytelling, Alfonso had way before Harry Potter came knocking.

Too much Drama Spidey!

The Amazing Spiderman, a reboot of sorts that came just 5 years after the original trilogy wrapped up with Tobey Maguire's excellent interpretation of spiderman, we got a more sensitive, taller and better spiderman but in the middle of everything, they put him in a overly dramatic and twisted story that ran too long for it's own good. Alas, 2 years later we get a second movie that ups the game in every way. Unfortunately that is it's biggest problem. Clocking at 2:21 hours, this second Spiderman throws everything at us including bits by not one, not two but at least 3 villains that have little time for us be invested in them. I challenge anyone to give me Electro's or Rhino's last names. This movie is shot beautifully and many camera angles, shots and 3D use seem very fresh and original but the Drama in this story goes for way too long. As Sony tries to sort of copy Marvels' inventive way of connecting separate movie universes, they went so far into making sure we figure what's to come next that they failed in creating a compelling, tight, cohesive and complete second story.

Spike Lee at his best

The 25th hour is a well acted movie that seems to be adapted from a play. The story is ok but the acting is phenomenal. The late great Phillip Seymour Hoffman plays his usual awkward character from the late 90s (think "Happiness") and Rosario Dawson is at her sexy best. Edward Norton shows us here why he's one of the best actors of his generation and in his bathroom mirror Monologue about New York, my goodness does he not sum up the spirit of this city and it's people. Sure, he goes bananas, off the deep end, but in the context of his situation, can you blame him? Still, the movie is not bad but it's showing signs of age.
He Got Game is another beast altogether. Denzel Washington is in top form and Ray Allen surprises as the young buck.

An almost worthy follow up to 300

It is always difficult to follow up and meet or surpass expectations when the original work was hailed as a fantastic action experience. Still, there is much to enjoy in this movie. Even Eva Green's character is hilarious while she hams it up on screen as villainous Artemisia. The lead characters are not as strong and otherworldly as King Leonidas and his 300 but the action set pieces are very entertaining.

At the price they seel this item, it is certainly worth the investment. The item works perfectly with both PCs and Macs. The set up though had a few minor hiccups. Since it's power comes from the USB port, you need at least USB 2.0 or 3.0 to get enough power to run the item. Other than that, installation of software was easy and fast. The item itself works well.
