KNOCK KNOCK was a very entertaining movie that was unpredictable and kept you wanting to find out what was going to happen next. I enjoy movies like this.
I did not think the theatrical trailer for this movie looked good at all, so I was pleasantly surprised that the movie turned out to be a pretty good thriller. The acting was good and the movie had some unique plot twists. It is suspenseful at times and has a couple of decent scares. The Blu Ray quality of the movie is very good. There are a lot of dark scenes in the movie and the quality of these scenes looked very good. Also, the audio was very good. Overall this movie tuned out to be a pleasant surprise.
KONG: SKULL ISLAND was surprisingly a really good movie. The special effects were excellent and the story turned out to be much better than what I had expected. KONG is a great character and looks amazing in this movie. The Blu Ray disc version of this movie looks and sounds FANTASTIC. I haven't watched the 4K version yet, but the Blu Ray is excellent! It's great to have this movie in 3D as well. This version of the movie comes in a very nice Steelbook with the Blu Ray version, 3D Blu Ray Version, and 4K version!! That's as good as it gets right there.
The fourth season of The Walking Dead finds Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) desperate to rediscover his own humanity and preserve what he can of his son Carl's (Chandler Riggs) childhood through reinventing himself as a farmer while a counsel including Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) in addition to several Woodbury ex-pats take on leadership roles. His newfound sense of peace is quickly derailed, however, when a mysterious illness begins to decimate the community. Elsewhere, the disgraced Governor (David Morrissey) roams the apocalyptic streets on his own until happening upon a family of survivors who reignite both his will to survive and take revenge against Rick, who he blames for the loss of Woodbury. Following a massacre at the prison, the group is splintered into several factions, none of whom can be sure about the fates of the others, and forced to find shelter among a population of survivors that can pose as much and often more of a threat than the walkers themselves.
The video and audio on the Blu Ray for Season 4 of the Walking Dead look and sound just fine. The show has a specific look to it and this blu ray faithfully recreates it. It can be gritty at times and has long been a 16mm looking picture. The Blu Ray actually looks a little bit better than it did on TV because it's not a victim to cable TV signals.
My real problem with Season 4 is that I overall found it to be the most boring season. There were too many episodes that just contained a couple characters in them and some of these just got incredibly boring. Other than that the presentation is great.
I didn't expect much from this movie but was happily surprised that it turned out to be very compelling and enjoyable. The mysterious going-on's will keep you guessing and the cast does a great job of playing scared, crazy, and everything else. Blu Ray picture quality is very good as well as the audio.
CREED is the surprise ROCKY follow up that turns out to be every bit as entertaining and uplifting. Sylvester Stallone delivers another Knockout performance as Rocky, this time serving as trainer for Apollo Creed's son. This movie is a great time from beginning to end with tons of replay value. I'm hoping for a great sequel to this movie! Video and audio quality on this Blu Ray are fantastic.
SOUTHPAW turned out to be a better movie than I originally expected. It is somewhat along the lines of Rocky or Creed, but still has it's own storyline and flavor. At the end, you'll be glad you watched it. Picture and audio quality are great.
The "Funhouse Massacre" is a very low budget affair, which seeps through during the entire movie, giving it a very amateurish feel at times along with bad jokes and some poor acting. The plotline revolving around insane criminals taking over a haunted house could have worked but it comes across as too silly, especially since the script seems to keep aiming for an over the top, silly feel. The flick does have some good gore effects at times, but they cant save the overall feel of this movie. However, if you are looking for nonsense goofy "fun" then this might be up your alley. If you want a creepy horror flick, this isn't it. Robert Englund has a cameo as warden of the $2.00 looking insane asylum, which he plays well. This just wasn't my cup of tea. On the positive side, the video looks good for the most part and audio seems fine.
This release contains every episode from season three of The Blacklist, the NBC crime series about a most-wanted fugitive who works with a rookie FBI profiler to take down criminals and terrorists.
The HD quality of this show on Blu Ray is good. It looks better on Blu Ray than it does on cable TV, so if you're a big fan of the show, you'll want to own this Blu Ray set of Season 3.
