Great sound for small speakers

I bought a basic system (receiver, turntable and these speakers) for my son for Christmas. I'm an audio enthusiast of almost 40 years and my own front channel speakers are a pair of Bose 601s. I am very pleased with the sound quality from these Polk speakers and would be happy to have these as my rear channel speakers as they sound great with his Christmas system.

I bought this for my son for Christmas as a basic receiver as he wanted a turntable to play his vinyls. After having various receivers for the past 35 years including Denon, Pioneer, Sony and JVC, I can verify this is a good basic receiver and is perfect for his needs. It doesn't have the soundfield settings, power and multiplicity of inputs you would expect in a more expensive receiver but what do you want for $100?

Steven continues his 25+ years of incredible songwriting with this album. Love Take Me Over is one of the most rousing, foot-tap inducing songs he's produced in many years. See You In A Little While is a touching song reflecting on the reunion of the Chapman's with their sweet daughter gone on to heaven as are "Michael and Maria". Chapman's profession of faith in public interviews and in his songwriting since the accident have caused this fan of many years to love and admire him even more.

Great little keyboard which connected via my existing Unifying receiver that came with my Logitech mouse. Really, my only complaints are the lack of a numeric keypad - I didn't realize how much I used it until I didn't have one - and the fairly heavy reliance upon the function key. The tight fit of the keys and the placement of the right shift key require some adjustment. I'd rather have had a more traditional keyboard layout without the touchpad but, you live and learn.

This may be obvious but you asked...you'll need at least a pair of front channel speakers and speakers generally do NOT include speaker wire. If you want the full effect of the surround sound capabilities of your receiver, you'll need a pair of front channel speakers, a good center channel speaker, a pair of rear channel surround speakers and a sub woofer...and speaker wires for all.
