Purchased these batteries because the package stated they worked in most chargers. I have a different brand battery charger and didn't see my specific brand rechargeable batteries. Used them, recharged them, and still using them. Price was lower than other popular brands but they all need to lower their prices hence, the 4 out of 5 rating.

I was sold on the Bose reputation and I did like the sound. However, after several trips to the Best Buy Home Theatre demonstrations room I found myself liking the Definitive Technology more than the rest. Unfortunately, the price was a little more than the Bose which was tapping me out as it was. I almost went Bose because I could have got a system at COSTCO for hundreds less but I went back one more time to Best Buy and the salesmen, yes SalesMEN, there did a fantastic job of isolating the system with different receivers and bass settings on the sub. I couldn't deny the superiority when tuned in to my listening preferences. Def Tech was having a sale for a few hundred off and I couldn't pass it up. It was still more than I budgeted but I was promised by the salesmen that Def Tech is a good quality built, dependable, durable, product with longevity. If that turns out to be untrue then I may not have made the right decision since I was only buying this type of system once. If it is true then I "DefTechnitely" made the right call.

What's not so great: It's a tough economic time, be sure you have it; to give it; to get it.

I compared this system to Bose, Jamo, and an off brand. This the clear cut favorite. I initially thought I was going Bose when I wanted a system but wanted to hear some other units. I tried an off brand from a big box department store and it verified my Bose interest. I then sound tested Jamo and was torn between Bose and Jamo. After listening to these perform under the same exact settings, song, and receiver the decision was as clear as what I was listening to; Definitive Technology Bookshelf Monitors were superior.
