Wireless hard to sync with Apple devices

Took a lot longer to set up sync with our Apple devices than it did with HP printers. Spent way too much time trying to read and follow the directions. Finally got connected, only to find that the printer seems to time out and shut off. So every time I want to print I have to go to the printer and turn it on. Kind of defeats the purpose of wireless if have to go to the printer
