My car (Honda CRV 2002) has only one power oulet. If I run dashcam via cigarette lighter, then I cannot use my GPS. I use the hard wire kit instead. After connect the kit into my fuse box, any time I start the car, the dashcam is on, so I can free the cigarette ligher for my GPS.

The only thing that's not good enough is needing power supply, the batteries are for maintaining the clock, without power supply, the dock doesn't sing.

Will it work eith an iphone classic?
I don't use iPhone Classic 5, however before answering your question, I have tried a few stuffs to see if it works.
I think with any device that can use auxiliary jack can connect to it. I have tried to use auxiliary jack with iPod Classic instead of docking, newer iPhone, and one Samsung.
