Based on a series of science fiction novels, The Expanse is set a few hundred years in the future when humanity has colonized a large chunk of the solar system. Follow Joe Miller (Thomas Jane), a police detective born and raised in the asteroid belt, as he investigates the mysterious disappearance of corporate heiress Julie Andromeda Mao and the implications that has for the tenuous peace between Earth, now controlled by the United Nations, and a militaristic colony of humans who have settled on Mars. Also trying to uncover the mystery of Julie's disappearance are Jim Holden (Steven Strait) and the crew of an ice hauling ship which finds itself caught up in the political intrigue involving Earth, Mars and the Belt.
