The only bad thing is that the Virgin Mobile model does not actually have the fingerprint sensor, although the BestBuy,.com description says it does.
Apart from that, everything else is just fine. The battery held the charge for a full month (it was most of the time turned off though). The micro sd support of 128 GB is only beaten by a Samsung model that supports 256 GB.
HD screen is really good. Did not test the camera, but for my needs, camera is not anything that is important.

How do I download music
The device - as far as I know - does not have any wireless connection and thus you cannot download stuff into it directly. You need a computer to download your stuff into and then plug this device on any USB port (cable provided with the device) and copy the downloaded files into the device internal memory or in a micro SD (sold separately) inserted in it. Alternatively, some computers have an SD (has to be a micro SD though) slot which you can use to copy the files directly from the computer and then insert the micro SD into the device.
Note: the manual says the maximum capacity of the micro SD is 32 Gb, but I used a 128 Gb micro SD (although the files did not exceed 32 Gb for now) and it played the files with no hiccups or complains. Don't know what will happen if the files pass beyond the 32 Gb space though....

if this SanDisk clip jam 8gb mp3 player device is not Bluetooth compatible and there are, presumably, no wires to the headphones, then how does the music go to the headphones?
There is a 3.5mm headphone jack in the device that you can also use to plug into an external speaker via aux cable (which you need to buy separately for only the headphone comes with the device). Hope this answers your question. I have it plugged to a bluetooth speaker using the aux cable (not very fond of headphones) that has an aux input jack.

How long will this MP3 player last? (Approximately)
Battery wise:The manual says up to 24 hours continuous play. But never tested that. Had it playing for a couple of days, all day long (about 10 hours a day) and the battery held good...
