Can you go for a run with the galaxy gear smart watch and leave galaxy note 3 home?
I like to use runtastic but feel the note 3 is to large to exercise with. I think the smart watch would be a great purchase if it will still track my workout without physically having the note 3 on my run. Is that possible?
No. This watch is an accessory to your device, much like your blue tooth headset. If you are 30 feet or more Away from your phone, the galaxy gear disconnects from your phone

does the watch work with s3 mini
I'm sure it would work with any galaxy phone. As long as you have the Android 4.3 update and you have the nfc capability on your device.
