A good example of a great movie that is not quite as well known as others of the genre. Boasting an all-star cast, an outstanding director and sweeping cinematography; it is a must have for any Western fan.
Of note is also the unforgettable theme music. I had this movie on DVD and jumped at the chance to upgrade it to Blu-ray.

When I first heard about this movie, I thought, "OK, another buddy cop movie, only with female characters". It certainly is that, but Bullock and McCarthy make it work. They seem to have good chemistry and play off each other well. It is better written than other movies of this type and includes some very funny moments (check out McCarthy's character's family). While not Oscar material, it's fun and worth watching.

Jack White has been making fresh and distinctive music for years. Each of his efforts, either solo or with his various groups, has displayed growth and maturity. This is not to say that I loved 100% of everything he's done. Until now. "Lazaretto" is outstanding from start to finish; every track a keeper. This CD also seems to improve with each repeated listening. Play it often and play it LOUD!

This is an excellent product from a trusted name. I had been looking for a boombox of this size that would be easily portable. I was surprised that I found one that would not only play CD's, but would access my iPod as well. The remote, while small, is a definite plus.

Another great album from a great band.

From the opening notes of "Weight of Love" it is obvious that this is not the same Black Keys we heard on the previous "Brothers" and 2011's breakout "El Camino". While Brian Burton (a.k.a. Danger Mouse) has been working with the band throughout the 2000's, never has his influence been more evident than on "Turn Blue". At times it's almost as if you were listening to a Broken Bells CD (Burton's project with Shins lead singer James Mercer). Gone is the raw garage band sound in favor of more refined melodies. But this doesn't mean that the trademark Black Keys sound isn't there. Dan Auerbach's guitar playing is better; more intricate and more mature. Patrick Carney's drums seem even more powerful than ever. Standout tracks: "Weight of Love", "Fever" and "Gotta Get Away" (the final track a straight ahead rocker that reminds the listener of previous Keys outings). "Turn Blue" is an oustanding effort from a band that is confident enough in itself to explore new territory. This CD has been in my car player since I bought it and it improves with each repeated listening.

Led Zeppelin's sophomore effort does not disappoint. While it displays less of the band's blues influences, it contains some of their best work.
"Whole Lotta Love" and "Heartbreaker" are standouts, but the rest of the tracks are strong as well. Consistent throughout, Led Zeppelin II remains an important part of this band's impressive catalog.

For those new to Led Zeppelin, or old fans updating their collection, this is the place to start. This album is quite possibly the finest debut recording from any band ever. It is musically consistent throughout. Featuring great rock tracks and covers of outstanding blues songs, this album exposes Led Zeppelin's influences and previews where the band is headed. Some argue this is their best effort. Regardless, it is an important piece of rock history and a must have.

Brutal, bloody and violent. This film may not be suitable for everyone. However, for cinema fans familiar with the work of Quentin Tarantino, this movie ranks as one of his best. It is visually stunning, exceptionally well directed and features outstanding acting (Christoph Waltz's performance is a stand out). If you enjoyed "Django Unchained", this movie is highly recommended.

Season Three of HBO's series "Game of Thrones" does not disappoint, and with each episode just seems to get better. I have never seen a TV show, or movie for that matter, follow the source material so faithfully. Any fan of the books should have little to complain about, except maybe the long wait between seasons.
