Worth it for the Peace of Mind...

The first step is to mount the detector. This is important because the device won’t activate until it is attached to the mounting bracket. Included in the box is an assortment of screws and dry wall anchors.
The next step is to download the App and pair the detector. This process was straightforward and simple if you have paired a smart device to an App before.
Once this is done the ten year shelf life clock begins. After ten years the sensors in this detector expire and it will deactivate. That is longer than my last carbon monoxide detector which only rated to last for five years.
---USE AND PERFORMANCE---
This detector is battery powered and that is exactly what I wanted, I have an assortment of wired detectors in my home that are wired in a series and I was not ready to tackle replacing them all at this time. First Alert makes a wired version of this smart detector if you prefer to go that route. The battery in this detector is rated to last five years.
The App is easy to use and intuitive. It allows a nice amount customization of detector features. There is no night light in this detector which the wired version has.
The alarm is very loud 85 dB which is a great thing in an emergency. Voice alerts provide specific details about type and location of the alert.
---BOTTOM LINE---
Every home should have at least one carbon monoxide detector. To not have one puts yourself and your family at risk. It is not the cheapest detector out there, but it is worth it for the peace of mind it provides me that I have done everything I can to protect myself and the ones I love.

This stylus is designed to work with the Google Pixel Slate. It works very well and is very responsive. I tested it with a few other devices and it doesn’t seem to work with anything but the Pixel Slate. The connection is instant and very stable.
It is powered by an AAAA battery and the battery life is not rated. It has been going strong for about a week so hopefully it lasts for a few months or longer.
The stylus has a premium feel that matches the Pixel Slate. It is made from aluminum and feels very solid. There is nowhere to store it in the tablet so be very careful when traveling. Think of how easy pens are to misplace and how many you have lost in your lifetime.

This stylus can take the place of a touch pad or mouse, but what it excels at is writing and drawing. If you are artistic or like to electronically write, then I highly recommend the investment, It makes drawing and writing on your Google Pixel Slate very easy and natural.

Transforms the Pixel Slate Into a Compact Notebook

This must have accessory connects to your Google Pixel Slate tablet and turns it into a compact Chromebook. It uses magnets to snap onto the tablet. It also functions as a protective case for the Slate and the magnets keep it in place.
Be aware that it needs a surface that is somewhat stable to stay upright. So, if you like to sit it on your lap, you will need to place it on something stable when typing. My legs do not provide adequate stability so when I use it in bed I set it in front of me on the mattress.
They keyboard is functional and easy to use. The keys are nicely backlit and feature an ambient light sensor to trigger the illumination. To adjust the keyboard illumination use the Alt button and brightness up and down buttons on the keyboard.
The first time I connected it performed a firmware update.
---VERDICT---
The Google Keyboard is expensive but absolutely worth it because it transforms the very capable Pixel Slate Tablet into an even more capable tablet/notebook hybrid.

Setup is as simple as charging it for a short time, turning it on, and then connecting to a Wi-Fi network. The next step is to create or sign on to a Google Account. Since I already have a Google account, my settings and data synced up immediately. There were some mandatory updates to the Chrome OS, the keyboard, and some of the Apps that needed to be immediately done but I was soon up and running.
Included is a 45W power adapter with a USB C connector and a USB C charging cord. USB C is now the charging standard, so I appreciate the versatility that it affords by allowing one cord to charge multiple devices. The power adapter also has prongs that neatly fold into the body of the adapter which makes it great to take on the go. Using a phone power adapter will charge this device, but much slower than the included adapter but it is a nice option when travelling light is a priority.
--DESIGN AND FEATURES—
This tablet can be connected to the Google Keyboard which turns it into a Chrome notebook. The Keyboard uses magnets to hold it to the tablet. Another nice feature to using the Keyboard is that is doubles as a protective case for the Slate and the magnets help keep it in place. The keyboard needs a surface that is stable to stay upright. So, if you like to sit it on your lap, you will need to place it on something stable when typing or use it as a tablet. My legs do not provide enough stability to use the keyboard. When I use it in bed, and I have found that the mattress provides enough stability to use the keyboard.
The battery charges fully in about 2 hours and lasts for about 10 hours.
The 12.3 inch, high resolution screen looks amazing! One of the best features of this tablet is the big beautiful screen. It is exactly what I would expect at this price point and is great for watching videos. I used the following Apps and found the performance to be excellent: YouTube, Vudu, Netflix, HBO, and Hulu.
The touch screen is very responsive and works well. It is also compatible with Google Pen if you want to use a powered stylus.
They keyboard is functional and easy to use. The keys are nicely backlit and feature an ambient light sensor to trigger the illumination.
The power button is also the fingerprint scanner. It scans prints accurately but can only be used to unlock the screen. The print scanner cannot be used to when it is off. When the device is powered on you must use your password or pin. I hope Google upgrades this feature in the future.

This tablet has nice sounding speakers with sound quality that is typical for a tablet. For critical listening I use headphones.

The build quality of this tablet is excellent. It not only looks great, but is also light, and easy to handle despite its size.
The color (called Midnight Blue) is has a shade of black/blue.
--VERDICT—
The Google Pixel Slate is for users heavily invested in the Google ecosystem that are willing to pay the premium price for a full-size tablet that can also be used as a compact Chrome notebook, when attached to the Google Keyboard. This hybrid notebook/tablet is expensive, but has a bright, beautiful screen that is great for watching videos and viewing pictures. M significant other takes it with her all over the house with her to watch videos.

---SETUP---
Setup is very straightforward. The camera mount is magnetic and snaps into the camera. The mount has two attachments (suction cup or adhesive) that can be used. I used the suction cup mount because it gives me the flexibility to move the camera around the windshield easily, as well as between vehicles. The suction mount creates a very strong vacuum and feels very secure once mounted. The camera itself is small and lightweight and some people will not even notice that it is there.
Once powered on use the settings to configure the camera to your liking. Nearly everything is customizable, but some of the more important settings are: audio on or off, video clip length, video resolution, time/date stamp on or off, GPS coordinates stamp on or off, and speed stamp on or off. There is also a model stamp setting which can also be turned on or off if you don’t want “Nextbase 322GW” stamped on your videos.
Most of the accessories are included except for a microSD memory card. This camera is compatible with up to 128GB memory cards.
---DESIGN AND USE---
Once setup this dash cam is very easy to use. It powers on automatically when you start the car and begins to record. It records to the memory card until the card is full at which point it then overwrites the older video clips first.
The overall video and audio quality are excellent. The 1080P recording are sharp and detailed and I had no difficulty making out the letters and numbers on a license plate. The wide-angle lens captures everything in front off and slightly too the side of the vehicle.
There is a file protect button that allows you to save video clips from being overwritten. The shock sensor in the vehicle will automatically protect the video clip when it senses a shock. Protected files will not overwrite and stay on the memory card until you manually unprotect them.
The camera can be configured using the touch screen or the App. There is also video editing software available. You don’t have to use the App or software unless you want to use the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi function. Since this camera records in the MP4 format, it is easy to transfer files using the memory card.
A rear camera module can be connected to and powered by this dash cam. This is not a function that I have added yet, but I intend to, so I can have all around coverage of my vehicle.
The touch screen is clear and very responsive. Taping the touchscreen while the camera is recording takes a quick still picture.
There is a Parking mode that is powered by a Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery. If the camera shock sensor senses a disturbance it will start recording.
---BOTTOM LINE---
People’s motivation for getting a dash cam are varied, but no matter your reason I highly recommend this model. It is reliable and records sharp, high-quality video that will give you peace of mind and a record of your vehicular adventures.

I am going to cover sound quality first because to put it simply this speaker rocks!!!
Normally there are limits to the amount of bass and mid-bass that can be produced by a speaker of this size, but Bose engineering has overcome that limitation, which is something that that I did not think possible. This speaker belts out tight and detailed bass that is comparable to a much larger speaker. The bass response really makes a difference by making the music sound very dynamic.
Not only is the sound very detailed and full range, but the sound stage is also very wide and non-directional. There is only one speaker, but it fills the entire room with sound that seems to be coming from everywhere at once.
---SETUP---
The first step is to download the Bose Music App and create an account, if you don’t already have one. Then plug the speaker in and wait for it to come on line. The App will then prompt you to connect and go through a pairing process that includes setting up Wi-Fi, Goggle Assistant or Amazon Alexa, and selecting the music providers you are going to use.
It is possible to use this speaker solely with Bluetooth without using the App or connecting Wi-Fi, but that will strip the speaker of the smart functions.
---DESIGN AND USE---
I was immediately impressed by the packaging. Bose put quite a bit off effort into the presentation and it shows.
Likewise, the visual appeal of the speaker itself does not disappoint. It feels very solid and well-made and looks fabulous in my bedroom.
The small footprint makes it easy to move around the house but be aware that it must be plugged in wherever it is placed.
The speaker itself can be controlled by the Bose Music App or the touch buttons on the top of the speaker. The touch buttons are responsive and work well once you get used to them because some of them are multi-function. The Bose App is very intuitive and allows a comprehensive level of control and customization.
This speaker offers a few different ways to connect wirelessly: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Apple Airplay 2. It is not necessary to use the App to use Bluetooth, but to use Wi-Fi or AirPlay the App must be connected to the speaker. Using the music providers in the App will allow the sound to be streamed over Wi-Fi which will provide greater range than Bluetooth, and potentially sound better because of the stronger signal. Apple AirPlay natively uses Wi-Fi and works through the Apple Music App if the speaker is connected to Wi-Fi.
Within the App is a wide array of music and entertainment providers that can be used. Most of the prominent services are available but also numerous radio, talk, and news channels.
This speaker is compatible with Google Assistant or Apple Alexa (but not both).
There is an Aux input that accepts a 3.5 mm audio cable for wired compatibility.
---BOTTOM LINE---
This speaker sounds superb and if I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Yes, it is expensive but if you want the best sound in its size class then it is certainly worth the price. Once you hear it for the first time you will really notice the difference and find it hard to listen to anything else. It sounds that good!

The crevice tools stores securely under the vacuum and I really appreciate that it does not easily slip off like other tools tend too.
The battery and charging stand have lights to indicate the battery charge level and the charging status.
The battery lasts for about 15 minutes and takes about 3 hours to fully charge. Since the battery is Lithium-Ion it will not discharge rapidly while being stored.
The filter is rinseable and reusable.

This handheld vacuum is extremely powerful for its size. I was impressed by the strong suction and how much dust and dirt it captures.
The dust cup is easily removed with the push of a button. Turn it upside down over a trash can and the dirt easily falls in.
It is perfect for small jobs around the house, and for cleaning up places like the car where a plug is not readily available.

I found using this device to be very easy to figure out. The first step is to plug it in using the included 9-foot micro USB cable. Then connect the desired audio cable (optical or 3.5 mm).

There is a third bypass mode that allows this device to function as an audio converter without using the Bluetooth function.

Once I put this device and my wireless headphones in pairing mode they connected instantaneously. Once paired, they both connected immediately every subsequent time that I used them. Once connected the pairing was rock solid and reliable. Two pair a second set of headphones was as simple as pairing the first.
The sound quality was not only excellent, but also completely lag free. I could not tell the difference between listening wirelessly as opposed to listening wired on my Sony Headphones. The advanced apt x codecs will really make a difference if your headphones are apt x compatible.
I immediately noticed the impressive signal strength and range of this Bluetooth transmitter. It is advertised as up 100 feet, and very impressively I had no problem receiving a signal anywhere in my two-story house.
I am not going to use the Receiver mode at this time, but appreciate that it has the capability.
---BOTTOM LINE---
Get this device if you want the very best Bluetooth performance that is out there. Yes it is expensive, but it has the premium performance, range, and versatility to match the price. The transmitter in this device has at least double (maybe triple) the range of any other Bluetooth device that I have used.
The superb sound quality and capability to use two pairs of wireless headphones at the same time, makes this my new favorite device!

The speaker and sub have an attractive black finish. The sleek and compact design complements my flat panel TV very nicely.
Setup was simple and consisted of plugging in the soundbar and sub, and connecting the soundbar to the TV with an HDMI or optical cable. I tried both the optical and HDMI cable and found the sound to be identical. Using an HDMI cable is preferable if you want to use the ARC function which will help cut down on cables. The sub and soundbar automatically paired every time I turned them on.
I really like that the soundbar automatically selects the proper input (HDMI or optical) based on the signal being received.. It also detected my TV brand and automatically took over the volume function so when I raised or lowered the volume with the TV remote, it controlled the soundbar volume. Just remember to go into your TV settings and disable the TV speakers.
This system is Bluetooth capable and I found connecting my phone to the system to be easy and reliable.
Included accessories: remote, optional feet to change the height, and a wall mount bracket.
---SOUND QUALITY---
For a speaker with such a slim footprint, the sound quality is superb! The movies and music I listened too sounded full, detailed, and pleasing to the ears. I especially noticed a remarkable improvement in dialogue.
The laws of physics dictate that there are limits to the amount of bass that can be produced by speakers of this size, but that is to be expected from a small sub. The sub is wireless but be careful about placing it to far away from the screen and soundbar, because that can cause the sound stage to collapse if the bass becomes localized.
I experimented with various sound effects modes and decided to use the standard setting for TV shows and DTS Virtual X for movies.
---BOTTOM LINE---
If you don’t have the room, budget, or desire for a separate surround sound system, then this system is a perfect option. I am very impressed that such a compact system sounds this good!
Going from using your TV speakers for sound to this system results in what I would describe as a night and day improvement in sound quality. The improvement in dialogue intelligibility was especially noticeable.

Setup is easy and straightforward. If you can handle changing a light fixture, than you can install this floodlight camera. The wiring harness exactly matches the wiring configuration in all standard junction boxes. Included in the box are the accessories (mounting bracket, screws, wire caps, etc.) to accommodate most installations.
Swann has an excellent installation video on their website that shows the installation process step by step, and I highly recommend to review it prior to installation.
After it is installed, the next step is to download the Safe by Swann App and pair the floodlight camera to your phone and Wi-Fi network. This pairing process was simple and took less than 2 minutes.
---USE AND PERFORMANCE---
The floodlight itself is very well made and feel capable of standing up well to outdoor use. Since it is made for outdoor placement is is rated as weatherproof (IP65).
The video and sound quality is very crisp and detailed. People, animals, and objects are easily recognizable. The video quality can be set to low, medium, and high based on your needs and network strength. Be aware that streaming and uploading 1080P video requires a strong and stable internet/data network. I have a very fast broadband internet service and strong Wi-Fi network, and found the sound and video handling and transmission to be very stable.
The Safe by Swann App is very intuitive and makes accessing and controlling the floodlight camera very easy. The App allows a great degree of customization of all of the functions.
The motion detection is very sensitive and accurate. Fortunately, it is adjustable from low to high sensitivity depending on your preference and needs. In my backyard I set it to medium/high and had no issues with false wind or light alerts.
The camera has three modes: Home, Away, and Night. All the modes are customizable based on the camera being armed, motion detection sensitivity, and light and siren response. The modes have to be manually set and there is no way to schedule the modes. I am hoping that a scheduling function is added in a future App update.
The floodlight uses super bright (5000K/2500 Lumens) LED bulbs! I really like that they are dimmable in the App from full brightness down to one percent brightness. I keep them on at night at one percent brightness and find that my backyard is illuminated perfectly in the evening and at night.
The night vision capability works well in low light conditions, but when the floodlight are activated they are usually bright enough to switch to full color recording.
The siren can be set to low, medium, or high.
The microphone is sensitive and picks up conversations well. The intercom likewise functions well.
The unit has built in storage for about 7 days and offers 2 days of free online backup.
Compatible with Siri, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
---BOTTOM LINE---
Overall I found the operation and function of the Swann Floodlight Security Camera to be flawless! The Safe by Swann App is very fast and stable, and makes practically every function easily customizable. It looks very nice installed in my backyard, and I am looking forward to many years of use.

Replaced an old SXRD Sony 60" from 8 years ago. Tried the 65" 930 model and that picture was good however not like the 940D. Full array backlighting makes a big difference. First one upon delivery had a line all along the right side of the screen and a horizontal line about 6 inches up from the bottom of the screen. Magnolia came out a few days later with a replacement and this one is much better. Remote control is not user friendly, poor design, Arc audio does not work with my 2 year old Yamaha receiver so must use separate fibre optic cable to allow audio to services. Sony 3D nothing like the Samsung. 4 free movies promotion was difficult to set up and must supply credit card info to get promo and only 8 titles to choose from. I wish they would have included the 3D glasses instead of free movies with a $6500 TV. Overall happy with the purchase and would recommend as a great home theater TV with lots of smart features.

Cable Box breaks ARC

Are you using a cable box? Cable and satellite boxes are notorious for breaking ARC. When I disconnected the cable box HDMI cable from the chain, ARC started working. I am going to get a HDMI "CEC less adapter" and connect it to the cable box which should fix the problem.

Given the choice between buying the 930D and the 940D (if price and size is not a issue), which is the better tv? I am confused with hearing about edge lit vs direct full lit, darkness at the corners with white background, 940D no extended range HDR .
The 940D has superior contrast due to the full array local dimming. This allows for deeper blacks than edge dimming. Wider contrast makes the picture "pop" more and creates a better picture quality.
