I Can’t Believe How Far Cordless Vacuums Have Come

I really like this Shark Cordless Vacuum. It is lightweight, portable, and most importantly has very powerful suction. The flexible stick and handheld configurations are perfect for big or small jobs, and cleans areas like the stairs and corners where a corded vacuum is difficult to use.
Cordless vacuums keep getting better and better each generation, and this model is no exception. Normally I use a cordless vacuum to supplement my corded vacuum, but we are at a point where that is no longer necessary. This excellent vacuum can take the place of a corded vacuum for most homes. It works that well!
---Setup---
I was able to easily assemble the vacuum without referring to the instructions. Everything intuitively snaps together. The numerous modes were easily configured and simple to change, once I did it a few times.
Cordless stick vacuums like this tend to be top heavy so it can be folded forward for low profile storage. The included vacuum attachments do not attach to the vacuum for storage. I don’t mind this because most of the time I don’t use them, and I tend to get annoyed when attachments fall or get knocked off the vacuum while I am using it.
---Design and Performance---
This vacuum can be configured to use as a stick or handheld vacuum. It can also be configured in a few different ways to function as a hybrid stick or handheld vacuum.
For standard use the steering and maneuverability are outstanding. The small footprint and cordless design easily reaches places that a full size corded vacuum would have trouble getting to. The included attachment tools work well and met my expectations.
Even though this vacuum is powered by a battery, it features a very powerful motor that generates powerful suction. I was very impressed at how deeply this vacuum was able to clean. If you have not been using a quality vacuum, then you will likely have to empty the dust compartment numerous times. This is because the powerful suction the Shark generates is getting dirt that your other vacuum wasn't reaching. Once you have cleaned your place fully, then that won't be an issue anymore. The suction strength is adjustable but remember that the most powerful setting will drain the battery faster. Likewise the turbo boost trigger button drains the battery faster as well. I have found that first power setting to be more than powerful enough for most cleaning. The dust container is very easy to remove and empty. The filters can be taken out rinsed and reused.

Shark is known for designing vacuums that do not get hairs or fibers tangled in the brush roll, and this model impressively continues that tradition. I am very happy to report that I did not have to cut hairs from the roller head with scissors.
This vacuum is about as loud as you would expect for a vacuum. I have never had a powerful vacuum that wasn't loud. My pets hate it, and yours likely will too. But it is no louder than any other vacuum I have used.
The rechargeable battery can power the vacuum for up to 1 hour on the lowest setting. If you use the higher settings (or the boost trigger) then the running time will be less. The battery can be charged attached to the vacuum or removed for charging. Indicator lights show the battery charging status and charge level.
I really appreciate the LED lights because they help with the cleaning. Shark has found a way to include lighting without having an appreciable effect on the run time. Most cordless vacuums don’t include lights because they drain the battery, so well done Shark.

Ultimate Wireless Performance
The outstanding eero Pro 6 Wi-Fi Mesh System creates a powerful and seamless wireless network that completely covers my entire two story, 2,400 square foot home. I can say without reservation, that there is a fast and stable Wi-Fi signal everywhere on my property, including the front and back yard.
This system is expensive, but well worth the price if you want or need a high performance and long range wireless network. The eero Pro 6 is my second mesh wireless system, and it is without a doubt an improvement over the very capable mesh system that it replaced. It is not only the speed that was improved, but also the wireless signal that completely saturates my home with a full strength signal, so there are no dead spots. The new Wi-Fi 6 (AX) really makes a difference for not only speed, but signal stability and saturation.
Setup is very easy and the first step is to download the eero app. Once that is done, the app guides you through the rest. I was very impressed by how fast and smooth the setup process was. My previous system took quite a bit longer to set up and was slightly quirky. The eero app makes setting up and managing the network very simple and intuitive. I was able to save myself a lot of time and trouble by naming my new network (SSID), the exact same name as my old network. Using the same network name caused all of my wireless devices to automatically connect to the new system, and saved me the trouble of having to sign each device on individually. Since I have a few dozen wireless devices, like most people, this was a much appreciated time saver!
Each Tri-Band eero Pro 6 in this system is identical, and are individually rated to cover 2,000 square feet each, for a total of 6,000 square feet, if all three are used. Each individual Pro 6 covers 2,000 square feet. The Tri-Band signals are 5 GHz, 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz. The top internet speed is 1 gigabit, for both the Wi-Fi and wired ethernet port. Each Pro 6 has 2 ethernet jacks on the back. Each one is powered by a USB C power port.
Proper placement of the units is important in order to ensure maximum coverage. For my home, I placed 2 downstairs and 1 upstairs. This worked best for me because I have wireless cameras in the front and back of my house, so I wanted the extra coverage downstairs. Using as many of the ethernet ports as possible will maximize the speed and reduce wireless traffic. I connected my Roku Ultra via ethernet because it is my most data intensive device when it streams 4K HDR.
In order to get the maximum benefit of the Wi-Fi 6 (AX) standard, a Wi-Fi 6 compatible device is required. But this system is backwards compatible with older Wi-Fi standards (AX, AC, N), and any wireless device will benefit from being connected to the high speed and strong wireless network this system creates. I could not recommend it more highly, it is that good.

True wireless earbuds with Active Noise Cancellation. The AU Titanium driver gives it a more realistic audio playback because of its three-layer 13MM Titanium film, giving this true wireless earbud a frequency range of 20Hz -20KHz. The noise reduction system inside the earbud generates sound waves that cancel out the ambient noise.

A Lot to Like, But Also Some Problems

There is a lot to like about these wireless earbuds. They look, sound, and feel good. The active noise cancelling does a nice job of filtering out some background noises. But I did have more than a usual number of bluetooth issues.
One of the best things about these earbuds is of course the portability. They do not sound as good or last as long as full size headphones, but are a great choice when portability is the priority.
The sound quality is quite good and sounds much better than the wired earbuds that come with most phones. They are very musical, and do a nice job of producing full range audio.
The active noise cancellation does a decent job of blocking background sounds. It doesn't work as well as my full size over the ears headphones with active noise cancelation, but it does an adequate job of muffling background noise. I am looking forward to trying them on a flight or train the next time I have the opportunity. I especially enjoyed using them while out for a walk, because the noise cancelation was able to cancel the right amount of background noise for me.
Unfortunately I did have some issues with the stability of the Bluetooth signal. I had more than a usual amount of problems initiating and maintaining a Bluetooth connection. There were also occasional buzzing noises, which I was able to clear up by disconnecting and reconnecting. I am hoping that Ausounds releases an app in the future which corrects some of these Bluetooth issues. Overall they have a nice product here, but it reminds me of the early days of Bluetooth.
The operation, battery life, and design of these wireless earbuds are very similar to other wireless earbuds that are out there, which is a good thing. What does stand out is the case supports wireless charging, as well as charging with a USB C cable.

Outstanding Video Quality and Wi-Fi Operation

I am completely blown away by the design and performance of the Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera! It has completely exceeded my expectations for what a battery operated wireless camera is capable of. The reliable operation and the crystal clear 2K HDR high resolution videos it captures are truly outstanding! I especially like that it can be mounted anywhere, and does not require a wired electrical connection.
The first thing you want to do is perform an internet speed check at the exact spot you intend to install it. A strong and stable Wi-Fi internet signal is an absolute must for this device to work smoothly. Of particular importance is the upload speed, because that is what will determine how fast you can access the video feeds. The minimum upload speed is 2 Mbps.
The setup is very straightforward. Included in the box are the necessary mounting accessories to accommodate most vertical mounting applications. Once the mount is up, the camera snaps in and out of the mount. When the camera needs to be charged, simply remove it from the mount and bring it inside to charge. This model does not require the use of an Arlo Hub.
This floodlight is weather resistant and has a high quality look and feel to it. I fully expect that it will be able to withstand the outdoor elements, and that I will be able to use it for years to come.
The 2K HDR video quality is excellent. Videos are super clear and detailed. As I said earlier, make sure you have a strong Wi-Fi signal where you intend to install this camera. Streaming HD video requires a high speed wireless internet connection to work properly. A weak Wi-Fi signal will negatively affect the operation and the audio and video quality. The night vision works well, but when the floodlights turn on the camera switches to standard recording. The motion detection is accurate and the sensitivity can be adjusted.
The included XL Battery is rated for up to 6 months of use. I have been using it for the past few days, and the charge level is still over 90 percent. The amount of time it will last will vary based on how often it is activated, and how it is used.
The Arlo App is intuitive and makes controlling the floodlight camera very easy. It allows a high degree of customization of nearly all of the functions. There are many features and options to explore and experiment with. Included is a 90 day trial to the Arlo Smart video service. After 90 days, the cost is $2.99 a month per camera. I am very satisfied with Arlo Smart, and intend to continue with the plan after the initial 90 days. It offers numerous features that are worth the cost
The floodlight LED’s are extremely bright and are capable of outputting between 2000 and 3000 lumens of illumination at 4000 Kelvin. It can output 2000 lumens on battery power. Getting to the full 3000 lumens requires using an outdoors magnetic charging cable, that is a separate purchase. The 2000 lumens is more than bright enough for most applications. It is dimmable from 100 percent brightness down to 5 percent brightness. I have the brightness set to 50 percent, and find the illumination to be perfect for what I want.

Easy to Use and Makes Good Coffee

This Mr. Coffee Coffee Maker does everything you would expect, and does it quite well. It is easy to use, looks nice, and most importantly makes great tasting coffee.
It features a water filtration system. This is an important feature because using filtered water really makes a difference to how the coffee tastes. Water quality can be as critical an element as coffee selection regarding the final taste of brewed coffee. The included water filter must of course be periodically replaced.
It can be programmed to turn on automatically at a preset time so you can have coffee ready when you need it. It automatically shuts itself off after 2 hours.
It makes 12 small to medium cups of coffee. The full carafe will fill 6 to 7 large coffee mugs.
The stainless steel finish matches my other appliances perfectly. It really looks nice in my kitchen.
It does not have a permanent coffee filter and uses disposable paper filters.

Classic Design That Never Goes Out of Style

This toaster is a perfect choice for someone that wants a stainless steel toaster that looks and works great. It matches my other stainless steel appliances perfectly. It uses the classic tried and true toaster design that never goes out of style. I have a nice toaster oven but prefer this design for toasting bread.
At 1500 watts, it has more than enough power to toast bread, with room to spare. I like my bread lightly toasted and shade level 2 gave me the light brown toast that I like. This toaster is high power, and can toast any kind of bread to the toast level you desire. The self centering function ensures that whatever you put in it will be centered, and thus toasted evenly.
The buttons and lever work very smoothly. When done, my toast was ejected to that familiar and distinctive pop. There are separate buttons for Frozen and Bagel toasting modes. When activated, the button in use illuminates. It could not be easier to use.
The stainless steel design is very attractive. The body is made of real stainless steel, and not just plastic that looks like metal. I confirmed this by using a magnet, which stuck to it. If a magnet sticks to it, then you know it is metal and not plastic.

Looks and Sounds Amazing!

The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 looks and sounds amazing. The sound quality improvement over the tiny speakers in a flat panel TV, is truly a night and day difference. It is amazing that a speaker with such a small footprint can produce sound this powerful. Not only is the soundstage wide and spacious, due to the side firing speakers, but the bass is defined and strong. Dialogue is also noticeably understandable and clear.

Sound Quality:
This soundbar is for someone that wants superior sound but doesn't want, or have room for, a separate surround sound system. I am very impressed that this compact soundbar produces sound this good, without a subwoofer. Bose engineering and quality components really make the difference. Music and movies sound big, detailed, and pleasing to the ears. I especially noticed how remarkably clear dialogue is.
At some point, the audiophile in me will want to explore adding the wireless bass module and wireless surround speakers. Adding a subwoofer will increase the bass level, and adding surround sound speakers will create a true rear soundstage. I would fully expect that these add ons will create a very capable surround sound system. The product specifications indicate that it is capable of Dolby Digital decoding.
Setup
If you don’t already have a Bose account, the first step is to download the Bose Music App and create an account. I already use the Bose App with my Bose Home Speaker 300, so all I had to do was use the add speaker option. Once done, I can now control and use each speaker individually or together to play music.
The next step is to plug in the soundbar and connect it to the TV with an HDMI or optical cable. Using an HDMI cable is a better option because the advanced functions won’t work over optical. ARC can automatically select the proper input based on the active device signal. ARC also allows you to use your TV remote to raise or lower the soundbar volume. Make sure to disable the TV speakers so that sound is only produced by the soundbar.
The Bose App automatically detects the soundbar and guides you through a pairing process that involves connecting to Wi-Fi, setting up Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, and selecting the music providers you are going to use. I have attached some screen shots to illustrate the process.
Design and Controls:
The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 speaker is compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant, but not both at the same time. You have to choose one or the other. I am using it with Alexa and am completely blown away by how advanced and powerful the voice options are. Bose has taken voice control to the next level. You can tell Alexa to do virtually anything that one of your remote controls can do. If the device is connected via HDMI to your TV, then you can use your voice to control it. But keep in mind that this control will only work over ARC, because it uses the CEC capability to run the commands.
This soundbar features a very attractive black finish that will look great anywhere you put it. The packaging and presentation are exactly what you would expect from Bose.
The speaker can be controlled by the Bose Music App or included remote. The Bose App is very easy to use, and offers quite a few options that are worth exploring and experimenting with.
This soundbar can connect wirelessly via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Apple Airplay 2. I have multiple Apple devices, so my preferred connection is AirPlay 2, which works through Apple Music if the speaker is connected to Wi-Fi. I prefer AirPlay 2 since it operates over Wi-Fi the range and signal strength is greater than Bluetooth. It can also pair wirelessly to some Bose headphones.
The Bose App offers a wide array of music and entertainment providers. Numerous music, radio, talk, and news providers are available.

Excellent Cleaning Power, Quiet and Easy to Use

The main benefit of a robotic vacuum is to save time by providing automated cleaning of the home. This model does that job extremely well. It is very powerful for its size, and I was very impressed with the amount of dirt and particles that it captured. It is very easy to use, and does an admirable job of keeping my home clean.
There is a lot to like about this robot vacuum. Not only is the suction quite powerful, but the vacuum itself is surprisingly quiet. The quietness is a definite plus if you have pets that get spooked by loud vacuums, which most pets do. My dog didn’t seem to mind it working, even though she was curious at first.
The App is versatile and allows for a very deep level of customization and control. I was easily able to program and monitor the vacuum via Wi-Fi with ease. There are 4 suction and 2 mopping water flow levels to choose from. The App also features a convenient schedule function.
The navigation features such as anti-collision and stair protection work well. I was very impressed in how well it navigated around obstacles and tight spaces. Make sure that you pick up loose items and clear obstacles that it can get stuck on, remember this is a robot vacuum not a tank.
I have a two story home and in about one hour it was able to clean both stories, off of one charge. I really like that when the battery is low, it will return to the charging station automatically. I cleaned the second story first, and then moved it to the first story, where the docking station is, so that when it was finished it automatically docked itself to the charger. I can confirm that the vacuum was smart enough, on its own, to not drive itself over and down the stairs. I used the mopping function in my kitchen, and found that it did a good job of mopping the floor.
Included in the packaging is everything you need to get started. The only assembly required is to attach the side brushes.

Fast Charging, High Power, Dual Port Car Charger

With devices being more and more power hungry, and everyone needing to charge a device, this dual port car charger is an absolute necessity. It is very well made, as I have come to expect from Belkin having used their many accessories over the years. Belkin products have a reputation for premium quality, and this car charger is consistent with that reputation. It has an attractive matte black finish, and when connected to a car power socket an white LED illuminates to indicate that the adapter is live.
The best feature of this charger is the 24W high power charging capability that charges my devices noticeably faster than my previous 5W car charger. Each port has a 12W capability and both ports are capable of delivering 2.4 amps for a shared total of 4.8 amps. Keep in mind that Belkin guarantees that this charger will safely charge your devices. Included in the box is the car charger and a premium USB-A to Apple Lightning Adapter

This Sony 4K HDR TV boasts 4K technology for vibrant hues. Its X940D series features a bold 75-inch screen and slim design. Wires remain hidden, and the unit is easily wall mounted. This television has a 4K Processor X1 and 4K X-Reality PRO for crisp video. This Sony 4K HDR TV is easy to control via voice commands.

Replaced an old SXRD Sony 60" from 8 years ago. Tried the 65" 930 model and that picture was good however not like the 940D. Full array backlighting makes a big difference. First one upon delivery had a line all along the right side of the screen and a horizontal line about 6 inches up from the bottom of the screen. Magnolia came out a few days later with a replacement and this one is much better. Remote control is not user friendly, poor design, Arc audio does not work with my 2 year old Yamaha receiver so must use separate fibre optic cable to allow audio to services. Sony 3D nothing like the Samsung. 4 free movies promotion was difficult to set up and must supply credit card info to get promo and only 8 titles to choose from. I wish they would have included the 3D glasses instead of free movies with a $6500 TV. Overall happy with the purchase and would recommend as a great home theater TV with lots of smart features.

Cable Box breaks ARC

Are you using a cable box? Cable and satellite boxes are notorious for breaking ARC. When I disconnected the cable box HDMI cable from the chain, ARC started working. I am going to get a HDMI "CEC less adapter" and connect it to the cable box which should fix the problem.

Given the choice between buying the 930D and the 940D (if price and size is not a issue), which is the better tv? I am confused with hearing about edge lit vs direct full lit, darkness at the corners with white background, 940D no extended range HDR .
The 940D has superior contrast due to the full array local dimming. This allows for deeper blacks than edge dimming. Wider contrast makes the picture "pop" more and creates a better picture quality.
