Good tablet

For tablet function, I also have the iPad Air 128GB to compare with. I prefer Android due to more free file system and better app management. Both devices have great displays, good sound output and are fast, but the Air is faster. I use the emulator MAME to test CPU speed and this app is compiled similarly on both platforms. 3D games in MAME on the Air are MUCH faster. The A7 is a better chip than the 5420 in this regard (pure power).
The two hits on the Note are weaker battery life (the display is a battery sucking demon) and the odd location of the usb port (should be on the side).
The iPad Air though has much better battery life and better wifi range. I wish there was an "Android Air" that has a micro sd slot and micro USB. To me, THAT would be the greatest device to date.
What's great about it: Speed, display, sd card slot, build, sound output
What's not so great: Battery life, usb location
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great battery life: Ten hours with full Windows!

Build is good (not great)
Display = Great for a 720P display (very good contrast)
Sound = Loudest speakers on this size or most laptops
Power = Plays Left for Dead smooth at native res and butter smooth with all hidef video, Flash, web, etc. Newer 3D games though will be a struggle unless lowest settings.
Steam works great and a lot of lower demand games on there and MS store.
Battery life is amazing. Easily ten hours of mixed use with display set to 80% brightness.
Full size usb port powers portable hard drives
Keyboard is functional but cramp. Ditto for touchpad
Wifi work great and does 2.4 and 5ghz.
This tablet mini laptop would ROCK for long trips with no power source.
What's great about it: Battery life and full Windows apps
What's not so great: Storage space is too small, but micro sd can be used to install apps
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great, but pricey device
on February 25, 2013

I had the iPad 3 64gb and sold it for this. The device is faster and the extra storage is handy if you like all the 1GB and higher games, plus media.
I think all of the Apple tablets are priced about $100 too high, but appreciate it is part of their business model.
The one thing I do not like is the constained file access and iTunes dependent design. I also have a 64gb iPod 5G touch and same concern there. That said, all iPads have better battery life than any Android tablet and I have had "a few" of those as well. Still do.
What's great about it: Display, speed, battery life, storage space
What's not so great: Price, constrained OS compared to Android
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great device KILLED by lack of ex FAT file support
By rushmore69 from Lexington
The hardware is great. Build, display, speakers, battery life, design. The problem is the device only works with FAT32 format. This means no cards or external OTG storage will work unless formatted in the old and uncommon FAT32 format. I have a Note 4, Moto X Pure Edition, Galaxy Tab S8, Dell 7140 and laptops. All support ex FAT and all of my micro sd cards, thumbdrives and portable hardrives are exFAT. To make matters worse, FAT32 does not support 4GB files or larger. Kind of silly to design a device intended as a video media hub and hi def display and no 4GB or larger file support.
If Lenovo update with ex FAT support I will buy it again. Returning it today.

Two stars is too harsh. Should have been three.
December 3, 2015
Lenovo should at least offer the exFAT drivers as a pay option if they do not want to pay the per unit royalty to Microsoft to use exFAT.
Heck, charge $1 as an drive add-on option. That would more than cover the royalty. Charge $2. I would pay it to have the format and keep the device.

The issue is not that cards do not work, but they HAVE to be in FAT32 to work. It is an old format that is uncommon and file 4GB or larger do not work with it.

Blur at corners?
By gajee
Myself and a couple of friends bought three Epson 2045 projectors over the weekend. I am writing here to express my displeasure about a blurring issue that we are noticing in all three projectors.
We connected the projector to my DELL XPS laptop using a HDMI cable. We could immediately notice that the top left corner (about 15%) of the screen was blurry. Eyes become watery after watching the screen for a while.
We tried every possible troubleshooting suggestion available on Epson website and other AV forums. We tried everything possible from perfect placements on a table to dabbling with the Keystone and zoom settings. We even tried different sources, a different laptop, Apple TV Airplay, Miracasting a phone etc. Nothing helped.
We then moved on to testing the projectors by projecting some focus test pattern images available online. We could clearly make out the blur on all the focus test pattern images we projected.
We then checked the other projectors too, both those projectors were more or less having the same issue, at least one of the corners was blurry, one was at the same top left corner, but the other one had the issue at the top right corner and the bottom right corner.
We are wondering if this is a hardware defect, poor quality of lenses or something to do with vignetting and other projector maladies?
One of us called up Epson customer care, the tech support guy was of the opinion that this may be a defect and he is sending over a new one (in exchange.) For now only one of us called up. We would like to see if the new one is any different, if it is not, then we are planning to return all three.
I wish Epson could arrange for a technical support person who could troubleshoot this for us. The customer care person was more of a sales person who limited himself to asking some questions about the issue.

Case blocks the speakers on iPad Pro 9.7

This would be five stars if the speakers were not blocked. I bought this today and notice there are no openings for the speakers. Were it not for this profound oversight, the case would rock.
Why no openings for the four speakers??

The box art on the sleeve shows the speaker cutouts, but there are none on the case. When I returned for another one, all of the stock at Best Buy was the same. Stock was pulled then. I loved the case design and build, so a shame this was missed by Targus production quality control. This case would be worth the money- if it had the speaker openings like the sleeve box are shows.
Hopefully Best Buy gets stock with the speaker openings. As is it really should be a one star. I was too nice with two.

Yep, the PDF spec on their site points this out, but the box art shows openings and the results did not seem enhanced. Also, there is apparently no sleep mode for the iPad Pro 9.7. A key feature missing from a $40 plus with tax case.
Still, like the overall design. Just not the results.

No smart cover function
April 3, 2016
The sound does not seem enhanced to me and the sleeve art shows the speaker openings. It also does not appear to not have smart cover function. Seems Targus is taking the cheap approach by repurposing Air 2 case stock and calling it Pro 9.7 even though critical function appears missing for the Pro 9.7. I agee though this could have been a great case.

No Smart Cover function for Pro 9.7
By rushmore69 from Lexington
Having bad luck so far with full price case options. The Targus 3D is missing the speakers openings unlike the sleeve cover art shows, and this cover does not have Smart Cover function with the pro. I gave this three stars instead of two, since the sleeve does not say Smart Cover as a feature. Bad assumption on my part.
I guess I will go to the cheap case options on line, since the two higher price ones have missed the mark.

Update to review
April 5, 2016
Targus was lazy with the cover art. The speakers do reflect forward, but the sound does not seem "enhanced" and more a gimmick to simplify production and sell this for the Air and Pro, The catch is the only tablet that has smart cover function is the Air and the Pro does not.
This seems a short sighted strategy that will mean a LOT of returns for the product by Pro owners. Who wants to pay over $40 for a case with no smart cover function? My guess is not too many.

Not for the iPad Pro 9.7
By TheTechGuy
This product is listed for the ipad pro 9.7, however, the case design is flawed in many ways. First, there are no speaker holes for the top or bottom, second, the thickness is not set right, when you set the ipad in the case, you can see about 1mm-2mm of spacing between the ipad and the case. I will be returning this item.

The space is there to pipe the sound forward to make up for the generic design for Air and Pro. No smart cover function kills it regardless.

If this is a Tablet running on Android, why are misleading product images put up on the product page and why isn't bestbuy doing anything about it?

Because this IS and Android device. Not best Buy's fault Lenovo wanted to use same naming for different products. The did the same with Yoga Pro 2 as well.

Is this considered the innovator edition?

The title doesn't say innovators edition but the description does say that it is, is it?
It appears to be, but the focus dial has more range on the version Best Buy sells. I have had both the launch version from Samsung and the BB one sold.
