This is one of the best albums of 2009. I'll be shocked if it doesn't earn a Grammy nomination. The Robinson Bros have put together one of the most pleasant albums I've listened to in a long time. It rocks, it twangs, it slides, it bangs. "Good Morning Captain" & "Houston Don't Dream About Me" will have you singing at the top of your lungs. This vinyl copy come with 9 songs not found on the CD, and not one of them is a throw-away. You'll reach for the second LP just as quickly as you grab the first. "The Shady Grove", "Greenhorn" and "Lady of Avenue A" are simply awesome. The bottle-neck slide guitar blows my mind. BUY THIS ALBUM!!!
What's great about it: The bottle-neck slide will blow your mind!
I saw them a couple years ago and thought their new lead singer sounded great. On this album, they should have let him do his thing. Instead, they had Jerry sing over all the vocals through some "Wanna Sound Like Lane" processor. Duvall can sing his rear off, and they failed to take a chance. Elton John, you're a rock-n-roll legend, but please don't ever squeeze your way onto another rock album. Way to end the album with a dud.
What's great about it: They didn't release this in the 90's.
What's not so great: Elton John's donation is a joke.
