I purchased the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi WRT1900AC dual-band Wireless-AC router after trying four yes four different NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (R8000) on my ASUS Q550l laptop. I continualy would be unable to connect to the 5GH bands and then not be able to connect to the 2.4GH band leaving me with no internet connection and the Ethernet port would not recognize my Ethernet port on my ASUS laptop even though the modem would be recognized as would any other device connected to my Ethernet port on my ASUS laptop. This happened with all 4 that I tried. this was not a problem at all with the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi WRT1900AC dual-band Wireless-AC router. It detected my Ethernet port and allowed me to set up the router by hardwire ( AKA Ethernet cable) unlike the NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (R8000) which I had to install the router over Wi-Fi for installation which I do not recommend doing if your able to do this step by hardwiring your device to the router with a Ethernet cable. The speed of the NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (R8000) does out perfourm the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi WRT1900AC dual-band Wireless-AC router but it was unusable with my laptop. The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi WRT1900AC dual-band Wireless-AC router has given me almost no problems. Twice this week I had a connection problem with the 5GH band but after a quick reconnect from the pc to the wireless 5GH band all was fixed. Now for me I have found that using the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi WRT1900AC dual-band Wireless-AC router wirelessly has a faster data transfer speed over using an ether net cable and the same principal went for the NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (R8000). Iliked the interface of the NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (R8000) router settings access page much better than the Linksys. also the NETGEAR gave you a desktop icon to shoot directly to the routers settings page(if connected to the internet at time of clicking on the desktop icon) which the Linksys does not and thus you must type in the address into your browser to access the settings of your router. The Linksys only has a dual band radio channel so you get one 2.4GH band and one 5GH band. On the NETGEAR you have three bands one 2.4GH band and two 5GH bands. I liked the idea of the three bands because you can pick and choose what devices use what bands. this is true for both but what I wanted all three bands for is this example. Dedicate one 2.4 band to my ROKU, Android tablet, SONY Blu-Ray player (hard wired with a Ethernet cord to one of the Ethernet ports on the router), OUYA (hard wired with a Ethernet cord to one of the Ethernet ports on the router) and cell phone. Then dedicate one 5GH band solely to my ASUS laptop and the second 5GH band solely to an Android streaming T.V. Box (either a Minix or DRACO). Now with the Linksys I only have two bands so I will have to use my laptop and my Android streaming T.V. box on the same 5GH band. I'm ok with that but the Linksys is much slower that the NETGEAR. All in all everything else is pretty much the same between both. For the extra $50.00 if it will connect to your device properly I would go with the NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (R8000) over the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi WRT1900AC dual-band Wireless-AC router. Best buy offers a 15 day return policy for customers and if you are an ELITE member you have a 30 day return policy. I tried four different NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (R8000) and either it would drop the one 5GH band and then state it was unaccessible and then proceed to do the same for the other two remaining bands with in a total of a 24 hour period or I woulden't be able to access the internet to even set up the router settings or access the internet. After the 4th try and a total of 5 hours of NETGEAR tec support along with tec support of 2 hour's with my ISP provider(Comcast) I could not get the NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (R8000) to proberly stay functioning on my laptop. I even changed the channels on the bands wich gave me only temporary relief for a hour or less at times. With the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi WRT1900AC dual-band Wireless-AC router the only things I don't like are the absence of a desktop icon to check all my router setting and the speed loss compared to the NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (R8000). Other wise the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi WRT1900AC dual-band Wireless-AC router out shines in my case. If you can get it to work properly for you then I recommend the NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (R8000). But if problems arise like I have stated if you want try the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi WRT1900AC dual-band Wireless-AC router.

I bought the roku 3. At $100.00 plus tax I was really questioning my purchase at first living on a more fixed income and not trying to waste my money. Well to cut to the chase I love my roku 3 and I don't regret buying it at all. You get free movies,newer and classic, in HD and standart format. You get free webesodes,podcasts,movie trailers,news (mostly NON-LOCAL),world news,T.V. series. DON,T EXPECT thoe to be able to watch live T.V.stations for example like TBS,NBC,MTV,ABC,AMC,CBS,LIFETIME,FOX,FX and so on. Pre recorded episodes can be found of older seasons of most hit sitcoms/series thoe. Their are add-ons to enhance your T.V. viewing on the roku 3 and some DO come at a price. AMAZON PRIME with AMAZON CLOUD PLAY (cloud play comes bundled free with amazon prime subscription) is a really nice app to expand your viewing pleasure. Their movie selection isn't all that big but their sitcom/series section(listed as "shows" and as "prime shows") is really encompassenang. From Dark Shadows to American Horror Story to Nickelodens Are you afraid of the dark (for all you mid to late 80's and early 90's kids) to Dance Moms. Now ONLY the movies and shows marked as PRIME are free with a yearly $100.00 amazon prime subscription. There is a multitude of prime included movies and shows but for the latest season or even say the next to last season for say SONS OF ANARCHY you have to pay per episode or buy the season. So long story short Amazon prime includes free movies and shows along with free music for a $100.00 yearly subscription. It can be used on the roku and any other device that supports the amazon instant video app. College students price is $50 per year by the way. For what I get for free out of the Amazin prime $100.00 yearly subscription I personally will buy a year subscription.(30 day free trial offered just cancle before the offer ends not to be charged if unsatifised. Credit/debit card needed). Now for movies you can get NETFLIX streaming. I only have the mail delivery service of Netflix not the streaming video service so I can't comment on it. Their are other services like PLEX which for $80 one time fee or a monthly fee of around $10 you can stream any media on your home network anyware w ith any device that is compatable with a PLEX app. I've never tried plex so I can't comment. PlayOn is a service for really opening up your viewing content like HULU the free version not HULU Plus and many more free stations like abc,cbs,mtv,vh1 which is a tiny list of examples. It's pricey,$80 but I feel worth it. There's so much to the app I can't explain it all. One MAJOR down side is to use it you must have your PC turned on and not in sleep mode and you must be in range of your home network. Their are many benefits to it tho and so the website is playon.tv I did the one time $80 purchase and I don't regret it. So all in all the ROKU 3 alone is amazing and you can add apps not in the ROKU app store. mkvxstream.blogspot.com. So in my opinion the ROKU 3 is a amazing device. Only 4 stars because my free set of headphones malfunctioned the very first night and only 1 ear bud works now and because of no xfinity go app. remove those 2 personal reasons and it would of garnered a full 5 stars easily. Personally I do not recommend this case as it provides no screen protection and as for the gasket seal that's to keep the phone water, splash, and dust resistant, I don't see that seal lasting in the case of the phone being bumped around often if carried in a pocket, bag, purse or if dropped into liquid. EX. falling into a puddle and hitting a rock or the ground of the puddle. Just my opinion though.
I have this case for my iPhone 7 Plus and i purchased a $40 screen protector to protect my screen in case of drops or personal stupidity ex. car keys in same pocked as phone.
I'm a very active out door person, who goes Hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, running/jogging in the mountains and i hope this case can handle a drop or two once or twice.
Usually I go with the Otter Box Defender Series, though I attempted to try LifeProof this time around, even though for all the drops my Otter Box Defender series suffered I never had a problem with it, and unlike the LifeProof Nuud I now own, Otter Box Defender Series cases are built to absorb shocks from drops along with built in screen protection and dust proof, but there not water resistant cases, which pushed me to try LifeProof cases, and the iPhone 7 Plus is only splash/water resistant so i'm happy for all the water resistance i now have, but if your not around water a lot or prone to dropping your phone in liquids you may want to try Otter Box Defender series which is around $60.00 with a built in screen protector.

Did anyone have trouble charging it in the car on galaxy phone?
I have had no problem charging a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone until the wire turned faulty after less than 1 full month after purchase. I confirmed this with multiple devices as to be sure it wasn't a incompatibility with my Samsung Galaxy S5. It will charge the phone slowly due to not being a micro USB 3.0 sync/charge cable and only being a micro USB 2.0 sync/charge cable. Also you may reciver a notification on the Samsung Galaxy Device to use the cable provided with your device for faster charging.

are all new tvs digital, no need to have cable to view the local channels?
YES. All new HDtv's come with a built in High Definetion T.V. Tuner meaning you DO NOT need a HD Converter box. you will still need a antenna for OTA channels (Over The Air). depending on you location some times a simple coaxial tv cable can suffice enough as a antenna if it's hung in a spot it can pick up on the channels frequencies. A simple digital flat antenna can be bought or you can buy a indoor antenna with a booster. You can also get a outdoor antenna which usually work well on the roof but sometimes the yard works also and you can buy a frequency extender for out side to help bring in the frequency better for you. as I listed them the price generally increases not always but generally. now their is one more option most either never heard abought or rather not bother with. this is called FTA (Free To Air) free to air TV is your personally owned satellite dish you purchase. free to air broadcasting is broadcasted all over the world by sattelites in our orbit By amatures and profesionals alike like hamradio. it'S all 100% free programing. nothing is guaranteed thoe. some channels get so good they become part of regular cable broadcasting others stay FTA or fade out all together. their are 100 upon 100 of FTA channels to watch but it's not all that cheap. you have to buy a satellite dish and all the recivers for in your home and then install it all or have someone install it and if you don't get a motorized satellite dish then you have to continually re position the dish to pick up other satelites. with a motorized dish all you do is use your remote that comes with the compatable reciver box and it does all the work for you. I would say for full install motorized dish and 1 reciver box for 1 tv that's compatable with the motorized dish maybe $200 to $300 dollars. It could be a lot more or even less. It would depend on what you buy and if you install it your self or not and yes you can install a satellite dish on the side of your home or even on the ground. it doesn't need to be only on your roof so you know. Well their's a lot more info needed yet. What would be you max width and max depth? Is the tv going into a darker room or a more lighted room? Is the light natural,artifical or both in the room? do you recive direct sunlight in that spot the tv will be placed? Are you looking for a full 1080p High Definetion tv,3D TV,4k HDTV,plasma TV,OLED tv,LCD tv? what kind of content will you mainly be ovserving on this new TV? how many other devices like Blu-ray players,vcr/dvd players,DVR,media streaming devices (roku.apple tv),video game systems,home theater systems,cable and or antenna boxes will you be hooking up to this new tv? I would really sit down and figure out all that first. then figure out a spending budget soley for your knowledge just so you know where you want to stand price wise then you really need to look at them in person in store turned on and flip through the channesl play with the settings make sure you like it or not. BE SURE TO LOOK AT THE SAME TV AT DIFFERENT STORES DUE TO DIFFERENT LIGHTING IN DIFFERENT STORES. I love this product but I didn't try yet,, my question is , if this product works anywhere in the world?
The short answer is yes.It is possible but way to much to explain all hear so hear is some youtube video that will help you. (Unblock American Hulu and Netflix Overseas!) their's a lot more to what they just mention in the vides. you have to change you network settings and mask where your location is. It's a little bit of work and if you wand all the us content you need to change your settings on your isp's router settings and your DNS. It can be done but it does take a little bit of work and paitents. That's all if your talking abought getting as much of U.S.A. content as possible in a different country. As for say like South America to Europe I coulden't be positive but I would assume close enough to the same steps but you would then need a South American billing address for setup. iam not positive so don't quote me on that last bit iam only assuming. Can you record shows on DVR?
I have Verizon Fios DVR and wants to get Roku for additional channels. Can Roku shows be recorded? If not, what else do I need to buy to record?
Iam no expert just a every day joe but I can at least tell you what I do know. The older roku's prior to the roku 3,and excluding the roku stick,I belive if it has the audio video jacks you can then hook up a dvd,vcr recorder to record what is being streamed on the roku. Now rember the ROKU is a media streaming device so at ANY TIME you can watch 90% of what can be found on the ROKU. A small select few apps do stream a "live channel" which woulden't be able to be view any other time but unless your loking to record Netflix streaming movies or hulu plus content that stuff is copyright protected. It would be technically illegal to record the copyrighted media. Yes it can be done illegaly so I shall not discuss on how. Their's really not much need to record from a roku I belive. If it's a issue due to internet bandwith or connectivity and you want to be able to record so then you can watch with out having the roku on then I would go with a $80.00 app called PlayOn with PlayLater and MyMedia. It is a little techy I do warn not much thoe and then on your computer you can record/download content onto a hard drive from the web for later view on your roku and you can record most apps found directly on your roku through the PlayLater App/PlayOn App/MyMedia App. The app works on roku and any other internet device capable of installing the PlayOn app like a smart phone/tablet.Only downfall is THAT YOU MUST HAVE YOUR COMPUTER ON AND NOT ALLOW IT TO GO INTO SLEEP MODE TO USE THE APP ON YOUR ROKU OR ANY OTHER DEVICE AND YOU MUST BE IN RANGE OF YOUR HOME NETWORK . So you can't go to a neighbors 2 blocks away and use your PlayOn app and cast it to their tv .Hear is the website thoe. playon.tv. I have it and I love it. I hope someone els can help you out more than I can and iam sorry I don't know if you can or can't use your VERISON FIOS DVR to record off yourROKU. I would assume that your VERISON FIOS DVR RECIVER is encrypted to only record content provided by VERISON FIOS and I would assume you can't DVR Pay-Per-View or ONDEMAND contant currently with your VERISON FIOS DVR which would only reinforce my belief of your VERISON FIOS DVR being unable to record any media content from a forein device such as a ROKU. I love Verison and wish I had their FIOS so iam hopeing iam wrong and that you can record roku on your DVR some how. best of luck.
