Too Good to be True

I really wanted this watch to replace my iphone and heart rate polar watch for my training runs, half marathons, swimming (never with the iphone obviously) , and biking. But it was too good to be true. The heart rate monitor that is built in is off by 30 to 40 beats. Not even close. I wore both the TomTom watch and my Polar FT7 with chest strap to compare. In the lower zones, they were close, but when spiking the heart rate, the TomTom would read that my heart was at 130 when it was really around 160. So what is the point of relying on the Tomtom Heart rate function? Because I wanted this watch to work so bad, I purchased an external Polar H7 (Bluetooth) chest strap that is compatible with the Spark Watch. It will connect, but it won't stay connected for long. Maybe 5 to 10 minutes, then the connection quits. I was 6 minutes into a 13.1 mile run when I had no idea where my heart rate was at. Do you want that? I called customer service and they recommend a factory reset - didn't work. I'm taking this watch back. I used the watch to lap swim - it didn't accurately count my laps. I even reduced the lap length setting in the watch from 25 yards to 24 yards to maybe trick the watch and get an accurate count. No dice! I am doing P90X3 right now and the heart rate is not even close when working out. Similar to the above heart rate deltas. The music connection to my blue tooth jay birds works, but I didn't buy this watch to be just an MP3 player. At the end of the day, if I go on a run, I will still need to wear a separate heart rate monitor and watch, so what is the point in wearing 2 watches. What this watch offers is just too good to be true....it doesn't do everything it claims. Boooooo.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
