In my quest (well, not really a "quest", more a musical desire) to have music throughout my humble abode I have, over the last month purchased Amazon's Echo speakers (4 of 'em). I returned them as they were just okay but failed to satisfy me musically and I hate talking to Alexa.
Next I bought (on SALE!) Insignia's superb GooglieAssistant speakers. Again I bought 4 of them and this time I got the larger ones with the built-in battery and clock and temperature display. How cool is that? Pretty cool, actually.
But...Everyone has a big but, so let's talk about mine as it regards this attempt at a musical huzzah. I did NOT like trying to talk with the GooglieAssisant. "She" was even worse than Alexa. The Insignias were otherwise excellent and vastly superior in features and sound to the Echos. I returned them and bought...
Two of these wonderful in white Denon Heos HS1 speakers! They cost me more than twice what the Insignias did for half the speakers but I am soooooo PLEASED! At last...my desire for music throughout my castle of cool is sated! These little babies produce excellent sound from a compact enclosure. They work with the Denon AV Receiver I bought from BB and best of all...I DON"T have to say a freakin' word to any A.I. !!
Highly recommend for any adult that owns or is considering owning a Denon Receiver with Heos. Even if you don't own one of those you can still use Blootoof to connect to these units! I don't of course but you could. So my magical mystical tour for musical excellence is now complete. At least until I get another Heos speaker... Perhaps the Model 5? And then maybe one more...
Trust me. I know what I'm doin' when I'm reviewin'.

Because I dislike talking to GooglieAssistant even less than I do Alexa. These speakers are far and away superior to their Amazon Echo counterparts. I recently tried the Echo speakers and returned them to (GASP!) Amazon. All four of 'em.
These Insignias have superior sound and features (this model has a built-in battery so you can take it outside!) so if you are sitting on the fence (OUCH!) on choosing between Google and Amazon I would say if speaking to A.I. is your thing, pick the Insignias as your voice of reason.
Me? I returned these excellent sounding and vastly superior (to the Echo) units to Best Buy in exchange for a pair of Denon Heos HS1. Those cost me more than twice as much for half the number of speaker but I have a Denon AV Receiver (also from BB) that works seamlessly with the Heos units. Now I don't have to TRY talk to anyone when I want to hear my music.
Once more, with feeling...These Insignia GooglieAssistant speakers are a STEAL at the sale price and are highly recommend for those of you out there that care about quality in build and sound as well as it's just nice to be able to see the time and tempaerature or set an alarm if the unit is in your bedroom.
Trust me...I know what I'm doin' when I'm reviewin'.

...About fifty (yes, 50!) kettles of tea. This device is the bee's knees or if you're feeling rather rakish, the toad's goads! I bought this for me and me alone and let me tell you all right now, this little kettle has the mettle to get the job done.
I am not joking about 50 full kettles of tea. I am sipping some iced tea right now. Made FRESH by this wonderful device.
My daughter tried a cup just yesterday and liked the flavor of the tea and the economical way the infuser gets the most from just two (yup, 2!) bags of tea that I will be giving her and her husband one of these today. I put my hard earned money where my typing fingers are and highly recommend this not only with words but by purchasing another one today!

Well, this is for my son's desktop which is used for both college and gaming. Which is more intense? I have no clue but I do know he says it's GREAT!
I may get one for one of my other laptops to replace the standard hard drive. Maybe. But for now, my son is thoroughly impressed and exceedingly pleased.

Acting. Imagine that...acting. Dreyfuss and Garr and the rest of the cast do an excellent job of just that - Acting. It's the storyline, not the special ("special"?) effects along with fine acting that drive this film over four decades later.
This film is from a time when movies were in theaters for MONTHS at a time and with good reason. The reason is that a movie was a moment in time, not a blip on your phone or tablet. It was to be watched and shared with family and friends. And yes, strangers. Theater goers. Enjoy this slice of the past with those that share that past as well as those that want to.
And the picture and sound of this 4K version? Great!

...That's probably due to my aversion to anything with that idiot Jack Black in it. No...Wait! I do know a film of his I enjoyed immensely. "Shallow Hal".
But seriously, this is a fine film and a good transfer with excellent sound. The acting is quite good but I have to be honest in saying I do not much care for Jack Black. I recommend the film in spite of his being in it but remove one (1) star because of that, LOL!

Would this speakers work as Dolby atmos ceiling speakers using a denon ace-x4300h, also who's ready?
I have that same receiver and I have not even considered trying this. I suppose I could but I already have Atmos speakers atop my Klipsch towers in both the front and rear in a 9.2 setup. I will look into it and if I can figure out a way, I shall return to this question with my answer. In the meantime, I suggest you did what I did prior to purchasing official Atmos speakers.
Try putting a small bookshelf atop your front and rear L/R units. I had a couple of spare pairs and did just that while I waited and saved for the Atmos units. Let us know how it goes!

My unit stopped working. All it does now is pulsate the 4 LED lights on the top of the unit. The "buttons" below the 4 circles still turn on/off when I touch the unit, but it won't boot or do anything. A long-press of the power button has no effect. Help!
