More radio friendly than before

This seem to be an attempt to become more radio friendly than the first couple of albums. Having said that, I still like it and would recommend you give it a listen. It still rocks.

Still a great album after all these years

A great first album by the band that started the progressive/mystic/metal sound. Ritchie's guitar playing stands the test of time, and coupled with Ronnie's soaring vocals, showed that you could have well thought out music and still rock. This and "Rainbow Rising" are must have CDs from this band.

Some great interpretations of some classic songs

It takes a lot of nerve to remake some of these songs because the originals are so well known and are so tied to the original artists. Anyone who can take on Tina Turner (Nutbush City Limits) and not embarrass themselves gets my vote. Same with Lucinda Williams (Can't Let Go). Thoes are just two examples of many great covers they do. You had better bring your "A" game if you're going to tackle some of this material and believe me they do. I for one hope they do more projects together. I'll buy them for sure.

I'm not a big fan of musicals, but even I liked it. Cinematography is excellent as is the acting, Blu ray transfer is great. I agree with most people that Russell Crowe is miscast. Weak singing voice failed to convey the inner conflict of Javert. Amanda Seyfried's voice isn't the strongest either but her part isn't large enough to hurt the movie. All in all a great movie.
