This is an excellent choice. The high definition is fantastic but it also has 4 HDMI inputs versus Samsung's 2. In order to get 4 HDMI inputs in a Samsung, I would have to pay several hundred more. It has been years since I bought a Sony product because Samsung was such a better picture and price. It is good to see that Sony is back to where it used to be.

Super easy, super fast, great results

I bought this device for a 1,000 slide conversion project. The slides were from the 60's and came in all shapes and sizes. It was easy to use, fast and a lot simpler that I thought. The challenge were the slides themselves because the thickness varied which caused some to slide in together, however this was easily remedied by taking them out and inserting them in a different order. Thicker slides with the same thick slides. The device accommodates various thicknesses but FUJI did not alway match KODAK. The one thing I would recommend is to make sure you brush off your slides (with the enclosed brush) before converting. A piece of dirt from one will stick to the glass and next thing you know, same dirt will be on all the conversions. You can't brush the glass but a little air spray can will clean the glass out. DO NOT USE the compressed air cans on the slides because it will freeze the film and you get nothing. All in all, great device I now use these slides as screen savers on my Mac so I actually get to see these pictures all the time instead of pulling out photo albums that no one looks at, including me.

Great case but don't forget the glass!

If you want a discrete smart case (which just shuts on and off in case you forget to set your screen saver) this one is it. Although it does not protect the screen against impact on the glass, just get the tempered glass and put it on the screen. The advantage of this case is that putting the glass (separate purchase) won't interfere with the smart case. The glass won't work on Otterbox or LifeProof but it will on this case.

Can a security cable be attached to the case?
Is there a way to lock the case to anything? My brother lives in a nursing home and I want to prevent it from walking away.
I do not see how you can connect it. Its a plastic case after all. I do not think you can realistically protect any device from theft unless it strapped into some sort of box with an alarm,
