What is the difference between Amp Power vs Volt power
The bissel pet hair eraser says it has 4 amp motor and the dirt devil says it has 10.8 v motor - which is more powerful?
I could not find the pet hair eraser picture so I put in another bissel.
The unit of measurement used to define the power of an electric motor is the Watt. It is equal to Amps X volts. A 4 Amp, 120 Volt motor is equivalent to a 2 Amp, 240 Volt motor (4 x 120 = 2 X 240 = 480 Watts). The unit of measurement describing electrical flow (current) is the Ampere (amp). The unit of measurement used to describe the force that drives the current is the Volt.
