Buyer beware the 43M and the 43AM are different. After consulting with 2 sales associates I was sold the wrong one. I am now deployed abroad and have a 300 paper weight.

is this flash compatible with the sony a57?if it needs and adapter, which one?

You will probably need the 43AM. Best buys stores usually only stock the 43M
