Again as with the washer; I wanted to wait a month and half of use before reviewing the unit. I have not had an opportunity to use all of the features available yet especially the "steam" portion and probably never will as I usually do basic washing and drying. I gave this unit a four star because of the quality of construction. Within two weeks after purchase, a clanging noise was heard upon opening and closing of the door. It sounded like something was vibrating inside or the frame or support for the tumbler was loose. I called LG and they referred me to their contract warranty service -- Appliance Repair Heroes in the East Bay to set up a repair appointment. Knowing warranty services can sometimes be spotty, I looked up the Appliances Repair Heroes on Yelp and their review was 2 1/2 stars not what you would say exemplary so I asked them for another referral. LG referred me to a repair/warranty service in Alameda which I found out does not cover San Francisco. So I went back to Appliance Repair Heroes and arrange an appointment not knowing what to expect. On the day of the service call, Oscar showed up and he was very pleasant. He removed the top panel and front panels and had to bend back some of the supports for these panels which then resulted in repairing the noise. I haven't had any issues with it for the last month. This unit was a replacement for a Sears Kenmore Elite dryer which is actually functioning very well but was replaced because the color did not match the new LG washer. I must admit that the Kenmore Elite feels heavier and more balanced than this LG unit.

I wanted to wait about a month and a half of use before I review this washer. This was a replacement for a Sears Kenmore Elite which lasted about 10 years before the second computer control panel needed replacement and I decided to replace both the washer and dryer. So far, this LG is working quite well using the Turbo Wash mode. I read some previous reviews and some users had some problems with the balancing of the wash. I tend not to stuff the washer full but usually wash a load that's about 3/4 full. This way, it gives the washer an opportunity to balance out the load and have not had any problems. The wash comes out fairly clean although I do not have any soiled clothes to wash ever and I do a wash twice a week so the wash is never that dirty to start out. Initially during the installation, the delivery person(s) did not tie back the braided metal water lines and each time the washer was filled; there was this heavy clanging as the metal water lines hit the back of the washer. So after an inspection, I tied back the water lines with wire-ties and the clanging went away. Not a fault of the unit but of the inattention of the delivery/installer. Also make sure you bring out a level so the the units are level front to back and side to side so there is no noise created during the spin cycle.
