I waited a few months to see how this works and so far so good. I have never seen anything packaged this well. Took me a while to unbox it. Everything was labeled and in its own box. It was delivered at the front door and carrying it to the family room turned out to be an impossible task.
So, I unboxed it right in the hallway and took the individual pieces to the family room and built there. The assembly took about couple of hours. Instructions are decent if you have previous experience in assembling furniture.
Once built it's really sturdy and I expect it to last a long time though I feel the packaging and shipping (176lbs shipping weight) probably added at least 20% to the cost.
I have the TV on the wall but it could hold pretty much any TV one can get today. I wish there were a few screw holes on the Aluminum posts as the back covers slide down too easily and make a bit hard to open up just a little to allow the cable to run.
If you have lot of electronics the space could be an issue - I have a full size HTPC, a Denon x4100w, an XBOX 360, Verizon FIOS TV box, an ethernet switch and a surge protector on the left and right shelves. There is no space left for the Wii or a stereo amplifier I am planning to get. The speaker shelf seems like it was designed for Polk RTiA4 as it was a perfect fit (can't pull out without removing the top panel).
Another small gripe is that the top of the drawer needs at least an inch of clearance from the top shelf and the BluRay/game cases are visible from outside even when it's fully closed.
Overall I am satisfied with the purchase, would have given 4.5 if I could. A good buy especially if you can get it with 10% mover's coupon to offset the packaging premium a bit.
