This rocking release from the classic sitcom WKRP in Cincinatti includes all 88 episodes of the show, following the everyday misadventures of the crew at the hippest radio station in the greater Ohio area.
I am half way through the series and I already ran into one the points that was an issue with licensing. Yet the music they chose to replace DOGS by Pink Floyd although not Floyd is not distracting enough to notice IF Carlson had not turned to Johnny(? Venus?) and said "are there dogs barking on this song?" I would have missed it. Picture quality is the best you can expect from 525 lines interlace AKA 480i. And the sound is great as well. IT IS DATED! But what show in the can isn't. TREAT YOURSELF TO WKRP!
Everything about this picture is great. Especially the new treatment it received for Blu ray. The sound, although not 5 channel surround (none was available at the time) Is impeccable, The picture itself? Just watch the extra on the care and handling that went into this release. You would think "Hollywood" would take better care of their product but they don't and now with the high definition blu ray and beyond releases they are up against it working to make it all look better. And it isn't easy. Neglect has been rampant. Prints and negatives need repair. EVEN IF they made the positive from the negatives and put them away They did not do that with any great care, It is surprising.
