Every episode from the fourth and final season of Banshee is included. The action drama about an ex-con who assumes the identity of the sheriff of a small, out-of-the-way Pennsylvania town stars Antony Starr and Ben Cross.
Season 4 (the final season) was the 'weakest' one yet. I thought the show peaked in season 2 and had dropped off a bit since. The tone changed quite a bit with not enough time to reestablish the new pace. Only 8 episodes.
No problem with the blu-ray presentation in this set. It looks good for Super 16 film. Worth it for completion of the series.
Season 2 of this involving crime drama continues to chronicle the exploits of an ex-con who assumes the identity of a lawman named Lucas Hood (Antony Starr) in the small, out-of-the-way Pennsylvania town of Banshee. The season kicks off with the arrival of an FBI special agent (Zeljko Ivanek) who opens an investigation into the vicious shootout between Hood and New York mob czar Rabbit (Ben Cross), whom the "lawman" once double-crossed, and metes out his own brand of justice. Hood's former partner-on-crime, Carrie ( Ivana Milicevic), tries to patch up things with husband, Gordon (Rus Blackwell), and daughter, Deva (Ryann Shane ), but is spurned. Meanwhile, a horrific murder triggers problems between the Amish community and the Kinaho tribe, and during the investigation, Lucas and his deputies confront an unruly gang of Kinaho bikers. Local crime kingpin Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen) takes matters into his own hands and delivers a peace offering to the Kinaho in hopes of cooling off the hostilities between the two groups. In the Season 2 finale, Lucas and Carrie head to New York, where they prep for a final showdown with Rabbit.
The last but unfortunately the worst season of Banshee. Show kind of went in a whole new direction but with only 8 episodes it never got going. Budget cuts were obvious. Still better than most shows anyway.
No complaints about presentation on the blu-ray discs. Looks good.
This set contains all six episodes from the initial season of AMC's zombie series The Walking Dead starring Andrew Lincoln as Rick, a small-town Georgia cop who helps lead a band of survivors after he wakes up from a coma to discover that a zombie epidemic has swept across the country.
The 6 episode first season is brief but still very good. While this season does feel too short the others are too long. I think 10-12 episodes would be more ideal.
The shot on film picture quality is great. Thumbs up there.
Unfortunately there are no audio commentaries on this season which is a shame since most of the them on the other seasons are well worth a listen.
This release features all sixteen episodes from the sixth season of the AMC smash hit series The Walking Dead, following Rick Grimes' (Andrew Lincoln) attempts to lead the survival of humans amidst the zombie apocalypse in Alexandria, Virginia. Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, and Chandler Riggs co-star in the pulse-pounding season six, as more survivors are discovered and the viability of the Alexandria community comes into question.
Another quality release of the Walking Dead by Anchor Bay with cool lenticular slipcover. Image quality is superb. Yes there is some grain but that is normal for a show shot on Super 16 film.
Extras disc offers an "uncensored" version of episode 16 but honestly the added swearing (all in one scene) doesn't fit the rest of the series. I'll stick with the regular TV edit from now on.
