Fun for the whole family

I had mixed feelings about seeing Big Hero 6. The trailers actually gave this film no justice. I had no intention on seeing this until I got recommendations from both my sister and my friend. Both told me they enjoyed this as much as their kids, both kids are girls as well. So this film is not just for boys which is good.
The film is about Hiro, a 14 year old genius who decides to pick up on his brother's project where is brother left off before tragically dying in a fire. Hiro works with his brother's former colleagues and friends to create a team of superheroes to uncover the mystery of Hiro's brother death and to bring perpetrator to justice. The film is filled with action packed scenes and heart felt moments that the entire family will enjoy. There is a reason this film won The Oscar for best animated film. Definitely recommended for anyone and everyone.

Weekend at Bernie's is an 80's classic. Two goofballs, Larry and Richard are stuck in dead end jobs. Trying to get ahead in the company the two spend extra hours trying to impress their boss. When Richard and Larry stumble on an insurance scam they bring it to their boss's attention, Bernie Lomax. Bernie invites them out to his beach house in Long Island with plans to kill them as they discovered his scheme to embezzle millions. He informs his partners of the two's discovery and plots a plan to dispose of Richard and Larry. His partners have other ideas as they believe Bernie has become sloppy in his work and plan to kill him instead. When Richard and Larry find Bernie dead when they arrive and plans to kill them, they fear their lives are in danger and drag Bernie's corpse all over to protect themselves as they try to escape the Island. The hijinks begins as the two clumsily try to escape while being pursued by many people they believe that are trying to kill them. Weekend at Bernie's is a great slapstick comedy that the entire family can enjoy. Instant classic.

See No Evil is the best film released by WWE Studios. So when the sequel was announced I was excited. I have read some crazy reviews on "How is Jacob Goodnight still alive?","This is unrealistic". etc. I guess forget the rules of a slasher film. One, the killer is always "Superman". Two there are always dumb teenagers or young adults in these films. I grew up in the Eighties and I enjoy the slasher films. I never take them seriously but I have fun with them. That is what you need to do with this. If you enjoyed this, you will like sequel as well.

Solid Diaster Action Film

Into the Storm is a popcorn, disaster film. There is no getting around that. Popcorn films can be fun and Into the Storm is one of those films. What I liked about this film, they took the storm chasers craze that we see on TV and incorporated it into the film. I also liked how they had some of the film as Point of View and other parts as a regular film. The special effects were top notch and did not disappoint. The film is only 90 minutes so they did not try to stretch the film. They made it to the point. The one thing that did disappoint me and shocked me as well. The film was not in 3D. You think with the 3D craze they would have tried to capitalize. Otherwise the film is a solid B+ popcorn action film.

The second Season of Arrow is even better than the first. When I first watched the show on Netflix I was immediately hooked. I could not wait until the second season arrived on Blu-ray so I could catch up on the show. The great part about season 2 is how everything evolves. The characters, the stories, and the direction. I also liked the introduction of less known of DC characters. I also really enjoyed the crossover with the Flash. If you enjoyed season 1, you will love season 2!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 continues the story of Peter Parker who became the web slinging hero after being bitten by a genetically altered spider. In this chapter Peter is graduating high school and battling not just an old friend, but an electrically altered mad man. Peter has lots of turmoil in this story. He keeps having flash backs of a promise he broke and his life seems more chaotic at every turn. Part two is not as good as the first one, but still a good effort. I really like Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. To me he captures the essence from the comics that Tobey Maguire could not. Spider-Man 2 is a great bridge setting up even more epic films to come. If you are a comic book fan or fans of the first you will love this.
This film comes highly recommended. The story and the acting were spot on. The direction was extremely good. I also enjoyed the 3D effects more than I thought I would. I give the film four out of five stars.

Galaxy Quest is one of my favorite comedies. I love how they spoof Star Trek and fan base that Star Trek or any sci-fi genre has. The cast is perfect with Tim Allen leading the charge. This film is not like other Allen comedies but Allen captures William Shatner's persona to the tee. I highly recommend this film for fans of both Star Trek and Tim Allen.

Lone Survivor is the true story of Marcus Luttrell and his Navy Seal team whose mission is to either capture or kill notorious Taliban leader Ahmad Shah, in late June 2005. Lone Survivor is probably one of the most realistic war/armed service films who will ever view. I recommend this film for fans of true stories, military stories, and war films. The film was intense. The film does everything that a film should correctly. Everything is near perfect. The pacing, acting, directing, and the story. This film is highly recommended. Five star rating.
