The seventh and final season of Family Ties continues to follow former 1960s activists Steve and Elyse Keaton (Michael Gross and Meredith Baxter-Birney) as they raise their children the suburbs of Reagan-era America. Their son, Alex P. Keaton (Michael J. Fox) clashes with them regularly due to his Republican beliefs, while their older daughter Mallory contends with typical teen issues, and their youngest, Jennifer (Tina Yothers) balances her siblings' quirks with her own tomboyish ways.
Twenty-six stories from the tavern where everybody knows your name are collected on this special DVD set. Cheers: The Complete Fourth Season collects the entire run from the 1982-1983 season that marked the arrival of Woody (played by Woody Harrelson) as the new bartender, while teetotaller owner Sam (Ted Danson) continued his pursuit of barmaid Diane Chambers (Shelley Long) and verbally sparred with Carla (Rhea Perlman), Norm (George Wendt), and Cliff (John Ratzenberger).
This four-disc set contains every episode from the fifth season of the long-running situation comedy Cheers, a season best remembered as the last one in which Shelley Long appeared on the show regularly as Diane Chambers. Each episode is presented in the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.33:1. English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround.
Come back to the place where everybody knows your name and have a brew or two with Sam and the gang with this feature-packed Paramount Pictures release. Each episode is presented in 1.33:1 full-frame, as originally aired, and offers audio rendered in closed-captioned English Dolby Digital Stereo. For those who may think they've had their fill of Cheers thanks to syndication, this release offers some great extras that are almost as tempting as that last glass of suds. If you couldn't get enough of mouthy barkeep Vera in the series, experience all of her wit and wisdom in "Virtual Vera," before viewing "Shrink-Warped: Introducing Frasier Crane" -- an in-depth look at everyone's favorite small-screen psychiatrist. "Carla's Whipping Boy" is also included, as is a featurette detailing Nicholas Colasanto's final season with the series and a tour of the familiar drinking hole.
The complete second season of the NBC sitcom Cheers comes to DVD from Paramount Pictures. This four-disc set contains all 22 episodes of the 1983 season. Presented with a standard full-frame transfer and Dolby Digital Stereo sound in English. Closed captions are accessible. Special features start off with the featurette "Strictly Top Shelf: The Guys Behind the Bar," featuring interviews with Ted Danson, George Wendt, and Rhea Perlman. Other features include "Cliff's Notes: The Wisdom of Cliff Clavin," "Carla the Comeback Queen: Insults for Every Occasion," and "Di Another Day: Diane Chambers from A-Z." Also includes a gag reel of bloopers from season two. This is a fine DVD release in keeping with Paramount's first season offering.
