I'm a tough sell when it comes to musicals. This movie however is a definite exception to that rule. The story line was engaging and the performances were very good. The video quality and sound on the Blu Ray were excellent and lived up to all expectations. I can see why this movie won so many Academy Awards.

This has been a movie I have enjoyed several times over the years but I never owned it. It is a classic Tom Selleck movie and sorta is an action / romance / comedy. If your expecting awesome video or audio quality then your going to be disappointed. Remember this movie is from 1983 and I don't think it has ever been digitally remastered up to today's standards. Several sceens inside buildings are noticeably grainy. The audio is nothing to write home about but has no problem in drawing you into the story line. Overall I am glad to finally add this title to my collection before it is out of print.

I purchased this movie on Laser Disk many years ago and when I saw that it was available on Blu Ray at an excellent price I decided to go ahead and add it to my collection since the Laser Disk player has long been retired. You've probably seen this movie so I'll restrict my comments to the Blu Ray transfer. In short the video and audio quality of the transfer is awesome and breaths new life into an old movie. If you had this on VHS or Laser go ahead and spring for the blu ray. You've gotta have this classic in your collection.

I bought this for clean up in my garage and to vacuum my vehicles. I purchased this unit on sale and did not pay mfr list. I like the stainless steel aspect of the barrel and the motor provides good air flow and suction. The hose is nice and long and gives good access into the large cab of my 1 ton truck. I do have to grade this unit down on two short comings. First the electrical cord is ridiculously short, thank goodness for extension cords. I believe this might have been intentional as storing the unit with a 20' cord would have been more difficult and made it much more bulky. The second short coming is the latches to attach the vacuum head to the barrel. It is a little cheap and cheesy but it does work if you play with it some.

This has always been a movie I wanted to add to my video library and so with it on sale I decided to go ahead and get it. The audio and video quality was absolutely great and the transfer to blu ray is flawless. Great movie.

If your into the JJ Abrams time line then this was a good movie. I have a little bit of a problem with the lack of imagination with trying to bring back the whole Khan character into the plot but overall I think the movie worked well and kept my interest. That being said I'm more interested in reviewing the 4k aspect of the blu ray. I broke the order of the movie release and purchased Star Trek Beyond on 4k HD before this one. I was a little hesitant to pop for this title on 4k because I was disappointed with the video quality of Beyond on the 4k HD version. Beyond was entirely too dark and lost video detail in several scenes. I've been told this was because they haven't really figured out the HD settings on movies yet. This is a review of Into Darkness and not Beyond. Sense this movie was not a 4k HD release but was 4k I had NO problems with any scene at all and the video quality was very good. Audio was also very good although I do not have a Stereo which can take advantage of the new Dolby Atmos sound track it was still excellent in the Dolby True HD my Yamaha is capable of.

I really liked the fact that this movie broke from the typical Star Wars cookie cutter movie mold. Yes the ending was unexpected if you have not seen this movie but it was needed to flow into the episode 4 story line. Too bad this wasn't always the first film as I think it is a fantastic lead into episode 4. The movie was engaging and special effects were in my opinion the best of any star wars film to date including episode 7. As far as the blu ray aspect goes the picture quality was incredible and up conversion from my lg 4k player to my OLED tv was flawless. I would have loved to have purchased this in 4k hd but I guess Disney is just late to the game. The only reason I did not give this blu ray 5 stars is the audio track was good but not excellent. I noticed several of the action scenes where there was a fierce blaster fire fight the sound of the blasters sounded muted. I don't recall if this was the case in the theatrical release but I believe it probably is and so this is not a fault of the transfer to blu ray. Other than that the sound track was pretty good. I never lost any dialog mired down in sound effects and the base effects during explosions were very good.
