A great laptop...

This laptop is great... You really get what you pay for... It is fast with an I7 processor, 8GB RAM and a 256 GB HDD all encased in a sold aluminum chassis. The unit is very light at 3 lbs. The screen is bright. The only issue is that the touch pad is a bit too large.
Windows 10 is a big improvement over Windows 8. It is faster and a lot easier to use. I like the fact that I can flip the unit over and attached a regular keyboard to replace the laptop keyboard. That way, the laptop keyboard is not in the way of the regular USB one...

Best bang for the buck...

The Toshiba is a great buy for the price... Five terabytes for $145. Runs at 7200 rpm and has a 128MB cache. It is quiet and does not get that warm. I do not know how good the drives would be if used in a NAS but for a PC, they cannot be beat...

A good keyboard

This is an excellent keyboard if you get the right one. First off, they are heavy, with aluminum base and cover. The keys are can be lit with red LEDs if you wish.
The Corsairs are available with different mechanical switches. The Cherry Reds are designed for gamers with a smooth stroke until the key bottoms out. Unfortunately, they are not designed for general typing. For that you should get either the Cherry Brown or even the Cherry Blue for a IBM type of feel. The Browns is a compromise between the Red and Blue switches.
The keyboards requires the use of two USB ports with two braided cables. It comes with a detachable hand rest.
The Corsairs have been ranked as the best mechanical keyboards since they have been released. Just make sure you get the right switches for the right use. They are rather expensive but are about the goinf price for similar type of keyboards...

Studio Ghibli's final bow...

Sadly, it appears this movie will be Studio Ghibli's last feature film. Their animes will be sorely missed. I can honestly say that this movie ends their run with a high note, the detail and quality is superb.
It is about a lonely girl who moves to regain her health and befriends a strange girl who in the end turns out to be a ghost. The storyline is great and is based on a British children's novel... Highly recommended...

A good but expensive software player...

This program is probably the best DVD/Blu-ray player program for Windows. Windows 10 no longer supplies any player so I had to buy a program. I tried Nero 2015 but their program would not work at all. I picked this up and so far, everything works. Some of the newer movies will not work with some other players because of the copy protection. It is easy to use and works with 3D movies as well (as long as you have a display that can work with 3D).
The only thing is that the program is rather expensive at $100. i think $60-70 would be a more appropriate price for this program.

Great product that fixed my wi-fi issues...

I have always had wi-fi issues in my home... In one corner, I could only get 20% signal strength. I tried wi-fi extenders and they did not improve the signal. I have heard that Powerline adapters do not work, but i decided to give it a shot, especially with the return policy.
After plugging the adapters in, i can say I now get 80-90% signal strength throughout the house. You just have to be careful of two things. The adapters must be plugged into the same electrical circuit amd they must be plugged directly into the wall outlet, not in a surge suppressor.

Everyone says all HDMI cables are the same. This is normally true except when you have a long run. My run is 35 ft and my old cable had handshaking issues. I decided to buy this cable because it is rated for 27Gbps so it should meet nearly all future UHD requirements with ease.
After installing this cable, all my handshaking issues disappeared. It was definitely worth the $200 paid for this cable. No, I did not see any picture or sound improvements. But I no longer have a 10 second delay before the picture appears. Monster may be expensive but it worked for me.

This movie delves into Sherlock Holmes after he retires. It is 1947 and his memory is fading. He is trying to remember why he retired but cannot. He knows his last case was the reason but he forgot all the details. He lives in a cottage keeping his bees with a housekeeper and her son.
Ian Holmes puts in a great performance. This movies is very under rated. Nicholas Rowe from Young Sherlock Holmes has a cameo in this movie, he played the on-screen Sherlock when Holmes goes to the movies...
