After preordering the Kanoa buds and then giving up on them after the latest missed release deadline, I've been on the search for another set of truly wireless ear buds for using at the gym and working in the yard. I thought I had the right one with the Bragi Dash 2.1, but they were simply terrible. I went through two pairs and returned them both because the left ear wouldn't respond to pairing or any touches on both sets. It took over 2 weeks for each response from Bragi's terrible support team so, I returned them and began looking again. I determined the Jabra Elite Sport was going to be the set I should wait for. I was apprehensive about preordering yet another set of earbuds, considering I just exited the Kanoa debacle earlier. However, I had faith that Jabra, a longtime industry leader, could pull it off if anybody could. When they missed the first deadline at the end of October, I was thinking, "Here we go again". However, the website said they'd be out in November. I decided not to cancel the order and wait it out. When they arrived, I couldn't wait to give them a try. To my surprise, everything worked straight out of the box as it was supposed to. The ear gels, the charging case, the audio transparency feature, everything. The sound quality for these buds is better than the Jaybirds I had before for the gym. I had no problems with range and, as a pleasant surprise, my Polar M600 immediately recognized the Jabra Elite Sport as a Bluetooth LE Heart Rate monitor and proactively asked me if I wanted to use it for my workout. All in all, they are on the pricey side but they seem to be rock solid, good sounding, and exhibit no issues with bluetooth range. I'm set with these. I think Kanoa missed the boat now that these are on the market.

So, the sound quality of these earbuds is pretty much in line with what Jabra describes. They deliver a bass-heavy, rich, clean sound. The high end is smooth, but not shrill. I have the Jaybird Freedom X2s, and compared to those, I would say they are a richer sounding set of earbuds but not as crisp on the high end. I don't think you'll be disappointed in the sound of them. They are not in-ear monitors, but they are clean and very full sounding earbuds. They aren't as clear as my Sony XBA-4 wired earbuds but they are nicer sounding than my Beats Tour wired earbuds. As we all know, sound is subjective so, I'm hoping I've given you enough comparison points for you to have a reasonable idea of what to expect.
