If you liked John Wick type action, like I did,,...then you might like this approach to the genre. Ben Affleck plays an autistic guy(Asperger's), that is raised by his father to kick butt, John Wick style type, in that he can kill you with his hands or with any weapon, and has a morally flexible personality. The difference between John Wick and the Accountant, is that the Accountant was missing more of an emotional connection,...which actually is one of the lead character's Asperberg symptoms; inability to emotionally/socially connect with others. Maybe another actor could have found a way to make the audience connect to the character, and care more for the protagonist. Despite said flaw, I would recommend this movie as just something to amuse yourself with some action, until a better one comes along.
After so many unsatisfactory DC movies, my expectations were calibrated to the level of Man of Steel, and BvS. To my surprise, Suicide Squad matched, then exceeded my expectations. I attribute the aforementioned surprise to good acting, that was grounded, with some bits of humor thrown in. Kudos to the director David Ayers, who is known for directing gritty films like Street Kings, End of Watch, and writing Training days. The actors brought their A game. The only down side were the graphics / special effects, and the demon/monsters that were attacking, which could have been better. Zack Snyder should take some tips from David Ayers on how to direct.
I'm a big fan of the Bourne franchise, but I must admit that this last installment is "long in the tooth." The script was unoriginal in story, action, and depth of character. This entry did not add anything new nor give a twist or different perspective of the Bourne story or character that made it worth your money. Save your money, and wait till it hits cable. In the meantime, go watch the previous Bourne movies while you wait for something better to come along.
I bought this movie not because I was interested in the story, but because I had heard about Brie Larson's acting, and wanted see the work that earned her an academy award. I was not disappointed!
The life of forensic scientist Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) went into turbo mode when a particle accelerator explosion triggered a biochemical transformation that made him the fastest man alive. But now he's got to defend Central City from a rogue's gallery of equally superhuman beings and find a way to reverse the singularity brewing overhead. This complete Season 2 collection on six DVDs includes nearly three hours of extras including featurettes, gag reels, the 2015 Comic-Con panel, deleted scenes and more.
I really like this series,..the acting, story, and feel of the show, are all in sync. It also makes you sympathize, and empathize for it's hero, Barry Allen,..Gustin Grant proves why he why he was chosen to play the character,..and sets the bar for what the proposed DC movie should aspire to be. Season 2, like season 1, are worth the money.
This release contains every episode from the eleventh season of Supernatural, the long-running sci-fi series that follows two brothers ( Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) as they hunt demons, ghosts and other supernatural entities.
If you're a fan of Supernatural, you'll still get a kick out of watching Season 11 of this series. I must admit that it's getting "long in the tooth," but it's those stand alone stories where they go back to a good old hunt that reminds you why this series can be so much fun. I think that drying up of the overall story line comes from the story of God, Angels, etc, that has made the series a bit bloated and lagging. After a while, it's those stand alone stories that I mentioned that actually provides a little bit of a breather, life, and needed relief from the over saturated Supernatural Biblical story line. Nevertheless, if you're a fan,..like me,..you'll pick up Season 11, and the soon to be final Season 12, simply because you're a fan.
I'm a long time Star Trek(ST) fan,..I was really anticipating another movie. I enjoyed the first, and second films by JJ Abrams,..both had a good balance, plot, and character balance,..etc. ...even though the second one was rip-off of Wrath of Khan,..I still like it,..because the characters anchored the movie,..i.e..how dedicated they were to each other and for the greater good,..exploration of Spock's & Kirk's friendship,..which has been there in previous movies,...but ST Beyond,..aka,..Fast & Furious in space,..was lacking in depth,..and the characters seemed at times like they were going through the paces, and the actors were just phoning it in before the next action scene. The best scene for me was when Kirk, and McCoy are talking over drinks,..reminiscent of ST- The Final Frontier in the campfire scene,..and in Search for Spock,..bond between best friends that will last till they're old guys. It's this type of foundation that has kept ST going through the years, and the human exploration of themselves and the galaxy,..to "boldly go where no one has gone before!" ....This was lacking in Beyond,..I saw it twice months apart,..and I came to the same conclusion both times. Oh, well! ..Listen,..if you're a ST fan,..you will still watch, because you love said universe,..but it's just not worth the price. So wait until the price drops, then buy it. Justin Lin needs to stick to the F& F. Sci-Fi is not his thing. I love ST,..I just don't want the wrong director killing the franchise.
I was really anticipating another dark and gritty Batman movie, but this one lacked that special quality that makes the Dark Knight a special character. The ending also left me saying,...What,...that's it?! Save your money for the next Justice League movie, this Batman entry was not worth it.
