Terminator fans, add this to your list

This review is of the Director's cut only. By now, you already know the story, this one takes place in 2018 in a post apocalyptic future where the machines are already wiping out the human race and John Conner begins to lead the resistance. (SPOILER ALERT) We also see the first "humanoid" terminators being developed by Skynet with a cool cameo by Arnold (until all his flesh is melted away). There are a few holes in the story like "how does a 100 foot tall machine sneak up on everybody in the middle of the desert in broad daylight?", but hey, who cares, just enjoy the action, it's a fun flick.
The Video: A 1080P/VC-1 encode in a 2.40:1 aspect ratio. A beautiful, sharp transfer with good black levels and plenty of detail in the darker scenes. Daylight scenes are a bit washed out and a little grainy but give you the feeling of being very natural since this takes place in a post apocalyptic future.
The Audio: DTS HD Master Audio 5.1. Wow! This is one awesome soundtrack. Crystal clear detail and localized dialogue and very, very loud. This one will rock your system and your house. You will believe you are there.
Conclusion: If you just love the Terminator films like I do, then you'll love this one too. If you're picky about your films then you may have a different opinion.
What's great about it: The video, audio and the Ducati's
What's not so great: A few holes in the story but who cares?

A great machine, powerful and juices well. I haven't seen any staining yet but then again, it's new, the plastic is brown and I wash it immediately. The foam seaparater works good too. It's easy to clean as long as you do it right away, there is no mess on the outside and the brush is perfect for cleaning the mesh screen. The plastic bag trick works perfectly too, you won't even have to wash that part (when you remember to put the bag in). It might a little on the loud side for some but it's not much louder than an espresso machine and being a little tall, it might not fit under some cabinets. This thing rocks (well...juices).
What's great about it: Works great, easy to clean, looks professional
What's not so great: A little loud, a little tall, may not fit under some cabinets
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent lead in to the game.

Dead Space: Downfall is what it says: the prequel to the video game. I was expecting a complete CGI animated film but it's a mix of CGI and what appears to be traditional cell animation, (although some CGI can look like cell animation). It has a decent story arc and is very graphic (bloody).
The picture: A good clean render, a little on the dark side but has even color and good flesh tones. Blacks are good and solid throughout with decent detail in the shadows.
The sound: Currently I'm only using my two channel system but the downmix sounds very good with some deep bass, clear and centered dialog and a wide dynamic range. Can't wait to play it again when I get my surround system hooked up again.
Conclusion: It may not be for everyone, but if you like this kind of stuff, it can be really cool. Reccomended for fans a the game and people who like adult animation with violence, lots of violence.
What's great about it: It is a prequel to the video game. Blu-ray is very clean and enjoyable to watch.
What's not so great: Picture is a little on the dark side, but hey, it's space.
I would recommend this to a friend!
